XP SP2, 8800GTX, Audigy2 ZS.

If I enable EAX, I get strange audio behavior... either I can't hear anything other than background music, or I get bad studdering in which the audio is out of sync with the display. These oddities seem to be dependant upon the slider setup - whether I pick surround, 5.1, or pro logic.

I have 5.1 (z5500) so I'm leaving the slider at 5.1 (which is sync'd with windows control panel).

I tried a million things (well, maybe not QUITE a million:D ), but the problem remained... until I disabled EAX. Now it sounds fine.

Anyone else?

I have the most recent creative drivers and also the most recent nvidia betas for video. Using fraps, fps is very smooth at 60 (vsync) with or without EAX enabled.

I read a bit about an issue with realtek and/or on-board audio issues, but it doesn't sound like my problem.

I like EAX, would like to play with it enabled.

Can anyone confirm an EAX issue in the demo? Does anyone know if it's also present in full version? I have pre-loaded from steam, but I have not pulled the trigger yet ...

Thanks,

I have a similar problem with my Audigy 2ZS.

I'm using vista, however. I wouldn't be surprised if it was because of our crappy sound cards.

I have a feeling it's not necessarily our cards :):(

I have a similar issue, except in Vista 32 bit. The stuttering is ridiculous, it makes the game unplayable unless I mute the sound. I have an old SB Live!, but I get the same problem with the onboard AC'97.
