This graphics card from xfx is pretty much the fastest thing you can get that runs on AGP (except maybe some of the ATI X1900's but those are only 256mb). I'd highly recommend this card for anyone trying to squeeze the last bit of life out of your old agp system before rebuilding this winter. (just be sure you've got a beefy PSU and lots of patience for driver issues)
Because the 7950gt wasn't originally meant to run on agp, standard Nvidia drivers won't install properly - they give an error "no compatible hardware found." So you either have to use the modded drivers from the xfx site (usually a month or so behind) or crack the supported card-list in the nvidia driver install to get it to recognize the card. I was able to do the latter option once for one of a 158 era driver (found files on nvidia forums), but my old crack isn't working for the new bioshock beta driver.
So… Anyone using this card and/or know how to mod the supported card list in the 163.44 driver? I'm currently on the 162.18xfx driver, before this I think I had the 94.1#xfx or so which seemed to work better imo. I should be testing the game when I get home this afternoon, and I'd like to be ready in case neither of those drivers work properly. Any help would be appreciated.
