Ok, I know there has been some controversy about the PC version lacking anti-aliasing. Which is true and it is also true about the 360 version, believe it or not. The 360 version doesn't use hardware anti-aliasing, but in software mode, for example, think GRAW 1 and 2 (PC) "smooth edging" feature.

Anyway, I figured out how to increase the smooth edging feature, which was set at 0.5 by the way.

For XP users:

Note: On your explorer go to Tools>Folder options>View

Documents and Settings>User>

Documents and Settings>User>Application Data>Bioshock

Open Bioshock ini and search for

UseSoftwareAntiAliasing=True
EdgeDetectCutoff=0.002000
EdgeBlurSize=0.500000

and change it to

UseSoftwareAntiAliasing=True
EdgeDetectCutoff=0.004000
EdgeBlurSize=3.000000

Enjoy. You could also increase the blursize if you want.

Here's a screenshot example. It reduces aliasing and makes it less conspicuous.

AA works in XP if forced from the Nvidia control panel...

Not in Vista, though. If you find out how, please post!

It did something.... no performance hit really though... but I'm not sure... some of the big things initially with jaggies were:
(Semi spoiler if you haven't played demo)
*the whale, the lighthouse, the legs on the splicers right after you get the elctro-bolt, the legs on the little sister etc etc...

this seems to slightly adjust the whale (although it still looks really ugly)

slightly fix legs of things

does fix the lighthouse a bit

and just generally looked sharper... although that could be a placebo effect?

This changed nothing at all with my pc :/ I'd love a little bit AA even if it was onlt 2xAA The whale is goddam jagged and he doesn't even knows it :/
