Multicore Capable?

The Unreal Engine 3 takes advantage of Multi-Core so yes, Bioshock should take advantage of them too.

personally I wouldn't say it pushes even a core 2 duo. I have a g15 keyboard with a hardware monitor on (bad on you bioshock for not supporting the g15 lcd screen) and throughout the entire demo not once did the cpu meter peek.

The game can use multiple cores. But even with my single core AMD 3500+, the demo runs very smooth.

But what CPU do you use? Dual or Quad. I have a Quad Extreme at home. I also have a G15 at home. That is the real reason im asking as I am interested to see what the keyboard will tell me. My G15 does show all 4 cores' usage for any application.

I have a Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.4ghz (not overclocked cos no games even push 2.4ghz yet). The cpu and ram monitor that comes with the G15 is a bit naff so don't use that instead get the Ez_System_Monitor v0.8 from here http://www.g15forums.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=63&func=select&id=1 (you also need speedfan if you want to keep an eye on your temperatures.

When I play the demo on my machine not once did it peak the cpu chart at best it just hovers around 50% usage. I am not complaining it is still a beautiful game and that but it isn't as resource hungry as you may think. On a side note like I said irrational could have made use of the G15 keyboard display how hard could it have been, I mean prey used it.

yep a 4 core 2.4ghz chip is not twice as powerful as a 2 core 2.4ghz chip. I think the increase is around 40/50% more speed but it may be slightly higher than that. That is one of the reasons why I stayed away from quadcores for now.

I have my E6600 clocked to 3.2 ghz and i have the Zalman 9700NT and idle my temps are 30 degrees (C) and stress they are MAX.. 45 degrees (C)
