View Full Version : PC DEMO Parental Controls

Just installed the Nvidia latest beta drivers, then installed the demo.
Ran the demo and it says "Parental Control Access Denied. The game will now exit" so I went to parental controls, tried to change but I'm administrator and u don't have parental control as administrator (wierd cos it's tellin me I'm under the control of them???) so i made a new account so I could set the parental controls to 'off' and tried again. same thing.
re-iinstalled game, same thing.
AAAAAAAAAARGH

plz help if you know the answer

I assume "parental controls" is a component of Vista. If I were you, I'd uninstall Bioshock, restart my computer, then reinstall it and see if it works. If this fails, then you could create a new, non-admin account and set the parental controls on IT to allow Bioshock, then install it there and play it. This is just a temporary solution until this problem is fixed, however, but you at least get to play Bioshock! Good luck.

thanks dude, but if you read my post, thats exactly what i did. if anyone can help please. even let me know if this has happened to you. don't wanna feel as if i'm the only one that this has happened to.

Oh... well that's what I get for skimming. Hmm. Well, I hope you have your windows XP CD around somewhere (or, hopefully the problem won't occur in the full game)

The general suggestion for this problem is to run the game in Windows XP Mode by doing the following :

Try runing the game in Windows XP Compatability mode.

- right click on the shortcut for the game
- left click on properties
- click on the Compatability tab
- tick the box called "Run this program in compatability mode for"
- select Windows XP (SP2)
- click on apply
- click on ok

Did this allow the game to work?
