a horserush is a rush where you get horseback riding as fast as you can and use a mixture of alot of production and gold from barbarians to get horse armies and if done fast enough can get you a walk-in or minimal resistance from cities.

a rush is just amassing units fast and attacking.

Thank you,

Yes research horseback riding and build horsemen armies and bltiz the enemy in the first 1-30ish turns. the ai will have a archer army by 1500(maybe little earlier) bc in their capital. so in Sp get there before hand.
in MP first 20 turns for those who know how to play then use those horses to get annoy people :D

Wow that makes a ton of sense. Here I was thinking it was a lot more complicated than that. :D

Nothing too complicated at all. Don't forget, though, that each civ is unique. For example, for the Aztecs you can immediately send out one warrior with 20 gld and then set your science to HBR and get it in 5 turns. So if you got 40 gld with that first warrior, you can easily have the first horse out by 3500 to acquire more gld to rush out more horses with. The Chinese and Arabs, however, will have a different start. And there are variations even within the civs, e.g., you may choose to send out 2 Aztec warriors at the beginning if you want to ensure that you get your 40 gld faster, but thereby slowing down the HBR research.

Hopefully that wasn't more info than you were looking for. Ninja and Neo already explained the basics very well, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to add one more idea to the mix.

Good luck, Zef

I would also add that the term "rush" can just generally mean attacking the enemy, no matter how fast it is. It's kinda replaced the word attack.

the only other unit rush imo is a warrior rush. at least i've never seen an archer rush. actually the term rush is used in this game as using gold to complete production of units, buildings, or wonders.

well, if we're talking early game rush, then yes, the other unit is typically a warrior, or maybe the knight from Knights Templar.

But, on this forum, we use the term rush for any unit. We talk about catapult rushing, knight rushing, tank rushing, etc.

I've done the archer rush with the Arabs, but that's not what I get them for. I've got BW from a hut in 4 turns, and started rushing others with archers. But, archers cannot get the infiltration bonus, which kind of sucks. I don't think they can get guerrila either, just like offensive units can't get loyalty or engineer bonuses.

well 'we' say rush, dont we mean beeline for catapults/knights/tanks? so its basically attacking the enemy as fast as you can with a good unit. you cant say you are rushing if you are using legions in 2000 AD rite?
