I just wanted to say I just bought the book and within the first chapter on the first line was a Bioshock Reference. "Who is John Galt?" Also a comment on a fading masterpiece. I really like it. :)

Just yesterday I found that book on my bookshelf. I knew we had it somewhere. I was thinking of trying it sometime. It is an amazingly huge book though. I mostly only read in school, so I'd have to lug it around all day. Is it a very good book?

Its pretty slow to start, and your only going to start seeing explicit bioshock plot themes about half way through. Its pretty dry stuff, but its a good book.

Stick with it, and just read it for the suspense story if you don't find the philosophy attractive. The last 1/3 or so it becomes a real page-turner.

Just wondering: Does the book have any action *shooting, explosions, fighting, etc.* in it?

Sorry man, its not that kind of book. :( (as far as I can remember)

I want to read the book but I don't know were to find it.

If you have a Barnes and Nobles, Borders, or any local bookshops near you, they are bound to have it. Its practically the capitalist manifesto. ;)

A couple explosions when a terror weapon is detonated. There is a gun battle to resuce a character who has been tortured, and a big battle against thugs who try to take over a factory.

Actually when I think about it, there is a lot of violence when society collapses, but most if it is talked about rather than shown.

I'm currently reading it now, actually. I'm enjoying it, but I must admit it was a bit slow at the beginning, and it's size is a bit overwhelming at first, as I'm not a huge reader.

i wasn't a big fan of Atlas Shrugged. I don't agree with her ideals and i thought all of the scenes were incredibly drawn out.

I actually really loved Atlas Shrugged, and didn't find the beginning to be slow or boring, but I'm quite attached to the ideals and very career-based. I will admit I felt it was driving the point a little too repetitively towards the end though.

The book is written from a very unrealistically biased view point, so many will dislike Ayn Rand's ideas, but I found it to be a very interesting read and will read some of her other work later.

Does your town have a library? Atlas Shrugged is considered a classic, and nearly any library should have it. Read it first before you plunk down cold, hard game-buying cash for it.

I've ready probably just about every Ayn Rand book. My favorite besides Atlas Shrugged, is The Fountainhead.

Another great work, is Anthem.
