Hello friends. My friends and I are attending a convention here where we live at the end of the month and I would dearly dearly like to dress as the man himself, mister Andrew Ryan. However, i cannot get my hands on a brown suit. Do you think it would be acceptable to wear a suit of a different color, or do i need to really push for a brown one?

I'd definitely push for a brown or atleast a tan one, or if you do decide to make a different suit color make sure you have a golf club. [Or if they don't allow it to be brought in, make one somehow] The brown suit is one of the trademarks of Mr. Ryan and to not have it might be leaving people, even if they are huge fans of Bioshock, wondering who you are cosplaying.
EDIT: Heck maybe even try to find brown pants and have a white dress shirt and maybe suspenders?

You should definitely keep trying to get a brown one. It just wouldn't be Ryan without it.

Something that would be freakin' amazing if you can't find the suit would be to make a prop of the end of a golf club out of foam or something, use spirit glue to attach it to your head, and make/get fake blood and put some where the wound is and have some dripping down from your eyes and nose. If you wanted to be scary, that is. :p
Brown, or anything that resembles brown. But who would know that you're Andrew Ryan if you don't carry around a golf club. So make sure you get one of those too. xD

I'd definitely try and find a brown suit. I'm sure you'd be able to find one on ebay. Check out second hand clothing stores too if you don't want to spend money on a new one. Good luck :)

well my friends it seems that i am just too big for any second hand suits. I am a big man, but a suit is slimming on my frame and i would have been able to pull it off, but the brown pants and suspenders, now we are cookin with gas
