So it has been announced yesterday that Valve will release Left 4 Dead 2. November 17th 2009. I just wanted to gather everybody's thoughts on that. From what I understand there will be new maps, weapons and survivors. Personally I love L4D. It is a great Co-Op game, but I think if there going to release this game and it only has another 4 maps I probably will not buy it.
New maps should be DLC either for free, or charge. But I will not buy the same game again for 4 new maps. I just wanted to get your take on this.... Discuss

L4D is one of my favorite games, I think it is a great game to play with friends. If you like slaying zombies, it's the game for it. I'm syked about the second one. When I saw it announced, I pissed myself. (Not really, but you get it.)

i dont see what makes it that revolutionary compared to L4D 1

why should i spend 60 bucks on it?

i mean the first L4D was pretty fun but i got it more or less because there was nothing better out. i mean i never even play it anymore because it got repetitive. Nazi zombies on WaW was an ADD ON and was in some ways as much fun as a zombie game and i didint have to pay 60 bucks for it!

i dont mean to sound bitter or angry because im not, im just opinionated :D

As of right now, it looks REALLY good. Sounds like they are implementing a lot of interesting, new features to it, which would help make gameplay a lot less repetetive than before.

I say Valve should of worked on portal 2 or Half-Life 2: Ep. 3

I thought they announced Portal 2 just before "Portal: Still Alive" came out. Not like they'd have anything to show as of yet, but who knows...

How about they just make Half-Life 3? We're already waiting so long for gameplay which will probably only last 2-3 hours at most. Just give us a full game. :(

I think they were set on a trilogy of episodes for HL2 but to also make HL3

it looks good for the most part to me. I hat ethat Valve has chosen to go for the money grab option and make us buy a whole new game when a DLC pack would be just as effective.

Also please, PLEASE! Make it so that we can play as the original 4 survivers (Bill, Francis, Zoey, and Louis) if we want to. Using them for so long in L4D has gotten me attached.

I agree, I mean it sounds like they could have done that but decided not to. but some of the new features sound like a good idea, for example, the Charger. that would prevent corner camping. and the roaming witch sounds interesting, but it makes it hard to avoid her. and with 1st lvl weapons that's pretty much an instant health pack loss. But I guess we will see. I hope there will be a demo, which I'm sure there will be, cause Valve is good like that.

An expansion has to be set up on each systems network, would have to interact with the real game, etc. They may only be able to release on 1-2 of the systems.

A whole new game makes much more sense, in this way.

I'm sure, when it launches, everyone will go "How would this have all fit into a DLC?" :D

I'm glad they're coming out with a sequel, the first one was fun, but felt more like it was a test for what it was going to be than an actual finished game.

I can't stand all of this talk about boycotting Left 4 Dead 2. Left 4 Dead has so much replayability that new content really isn't needed (although survival mode was a great free addition). I am ready to pay full price for the second game. :D

I agree, I'm not really down with the boycott, although I can see why a lot of people could be angry. I mean Valve has stated multiple times that there will be all sorts of new content for L4D 1. Including Weapons, Campaigns, Infected etc etc. but the same 4 maps are getting played out fast. and survival was fun for like 3 days and after i got all gold medals never played it again. so it is most deff time for new content. If i have to pay for it so, be it.
I just don't understand why L4D is still 49.99 when they sold the orange box with 5 great games for only 29.99.

I like L4D but I think replayability is the only thing it doesn't have. I get bored playing the same campaigns over and over. It needs way more variety.
