Hi - I am new to the PS/3 version of CivRev. I have owned the DS version for a long time and played quite a bit. It is fun to see it on the big screen - almost like it is a different game.

My question is about the game of the week. On the DS, this is just like a scenario, you download it, play it and I don't think scores are posted so you can save the game.

You can't save the game on the PS/3 which I didn't realize. But, last night I got disconnected somehow from the internet and my game stopped. Sucks after playing 3 hours, no save and suddenly all of your work is gone.

Is this typical?

Thanks,
Ken

this can happen from time to time on GOTW, and it's frustrating. You have to stay connected and you can't save on xbox or ps3.

the disconnects are still pretty rare in comparison to the freezes and disconnects that you may encounter on multiplayer. GOTW is usually only dependant on your internet connect, whereas on MP if you've got a few slow connections playing at once, plus the servers are acting wacky, then you can be in for a lot of freezes, glitches, disconnects, or just as frustrating, a lot of lag.

the DS version is fun, but it really feels like you're playing a GameGear game or something made from the 90s. Nothing looks that great, there's no civilpedia, and it seems a lot slower and not as stream lined. I bought the DS version after I got it on the other two consoles, and I hardly ever finish a game on it.

My internet connection is usually pretty solid and since I just got the PS/3, I have it plugged in to it would make the updates faster. I'll have to try it again and just beat the AI a little faster :)

The AI seems very different just from my limited experience. It will interesting to see how it compares. I will say that the PS/3 version is very pretty compared to the DS.
