which means americans are part english and germans, plus the viking raids and the romans that already lived their

-during the hundred year war, england gained most if not all of france, and the french were forced to sign a treaty(Treaty of troyes) that kept peace as long as the king of england controlled both lands, shortly after the treaty the king of england had a baby, and a couple months later the king of england died, giving the couple months old baby full control of two powerful nations!!!
-both egyptians and aztecs/mayans thought of the contruction of pyramids, with no contact with each other!!!!
-people today still think the world is flat!!!

1) Wrong. 0.5% of people are related to the Mongols, not Genghis Khan himself.
1) Again, wrong. Morden England was started by Dutch trides which came over and mixed with north Frence tribes, among others. That's a common mistake.

i've got one for you that I heard over on RevCast that I thought was intresting, and it actually has to do with the game:
when the Zulu fought the Europeans, it was usually with spears. But anytime they would defeat a European force, they would drop their spears and steal the guns. That's why in the modern era they get 1/2 cost riflemen.

The 'origin' of the British depends on how far back you go. The latest genetic analysis suggests that soon after the glacial retreat Western Britain was settled by people closely related to the modern Basques and the Eastern part were settled by Scandinavians. Later influx came from various parts of Northern Europe, including what are now Germany, the Netherlands, and France.

You mean Britain. OK. I can see what you mean. Hitler breaking the peace with the USSR was said to be one of the worse miltary choices in modern history. Still, America would have been attack by Japan so they would have entered the war anyay, and even if you count that out, America may have been pressured to join. And even if they didn't, there was still Canada, Austalia, Zew Zeland and South Africa who most likely would have joined.

For the record all of the British Empire (Now the commonwealth of nations) was in the war before 1940. =) Which is more then a year before the US even began sending supplies to the Allies...let alone joined in outright. =) So to firesplicer who said "even if they [the US] didn't [join], there was still Canada, Austalia, Zew Zeland and South Africa who most likely would have joined." you should get your facts straight! =P We were united before American involvement and would of been even if you hadn't joined. =P Back then the Canadians were elite troops too. >_> Essential in WW1! WW1 the US was almost exclusively moral support, with their first real battle being in September 1918 and they suffered over 100 000 casualties of their 605 000 troops..almost as many troops as Canada had in its entirety. xD
So in ww2 the US were needed but they weren't what some super soldiers that convinced other nations to join! =) Now the roles have reversed though. xD Now you guys are always the first into the war (instead of the last =P) and everyone else slowlyyyy follows your lead. ;D

The only thing super about America in 1944 was that they had plenty of uranium and created the atomic bomb throughout the Manhatten Project. Without that they would of never been able to take Japan on in Japan it would of been Vietnam all over again.
The Reason Germany couldn't break down the UK is because we were an island with the best Airforce in the world. Not to mention the thousands of brave men and paratroopers that invaded Normandy.

Not true! They had already crushed Japan before the atomic bomb. It was unnecessary to do, Japan was ready to concede defeat before that. Maybe they wouldn't had been able to invade Japan but they had already destroyed any possible threat.

my history teacher said that americans didnt want to attack japan in their mainland, because japanese would do anything to win, for example "Kamikaze" and that for the japanese it was an honor to fight for their country, and that dieying wasnt an importance to them:eek:

Here's a funny/gruesome fact I just saw on the History channel. In the time of beheading executions in England, there was a woman(minor royalty, can't remember the name) whose head didn't want to cooperate. When the first swing didn't kill her, she jumped up and ran, and the executioner had to chase her down, eventually taking ELEVEN strokes to get the job done! Apparently, beheadings were reserved for people of importance, while most were just hung. Ask me, I'll take the hanging anytime :)

Was just browsing the civilopedia and came across this nugget, lol, sorry hellogoodbye...
Andre Maginot was a french politician and soldier who was the primary advocate after WW1 of a long series of fortifications across the north of France to protect against another German attack. The Maginot Line, as it came to be named, was one of the most complex fortifications of the modern era and, in the end, completely useless. In WW2, the Germans, deploying tanks faster and more powerful than the world had ever imagined, performed an "end run" through Belgium, easily bypassing the fortifications altogether.
D'oh!

I'm not sure this is true either. If you look at a genetic map of Europe, most of England (except the East and North East), has the same genetic origin as the rest of the British Isles (Scotland, Wales and Ireland), Brittany in France and the Basque country in Spain.
The exception is the East and North East, which is diluted by genetics of viking origin.
The theory is that most Britons came from the Spanish basque country who passed by Brittany on the way. If this is true it means that the population of nearly all parts of the British Isles has the same genetic background.
The Saxons didn't seem to make a huge imprint on the female genetic origin of Britain, possibly because they sent male soldiers who took on local wives.
In saying that, the Normans, Dutch, Flemish, vikings and Flemish all had an enormous influence on the culture and language of the British Isles.

False on both of these.
Hitler wanted to become an architect originally, and he s, never had a stepdad (to my knowledge). When Hitler was 13 his father died (Due to the fact that Hiter's father was 51 when he had Hitler), and his mother no too long after.
That Roman Punishment theory is false. The Brazen Bull was invented by Perillos, and was given to (or made for, but whatever) Phalaris the Tyrant, to help him punish criminals. They'd put the victim inside, and light a fire underneath the bull. They had a series of bronze tubing inside the bull, which produced a pleasant sound that Phalaris the Tyrant enjoyed listening to, while his victims burned. Keep in mind though, this didn't cover up the scent of burning flesh, and both men were Greek, no Roman. (The Brazen Bull was actually invented before the Roman Empire was around).

As well, the wars with the Ruskies and the Americans were inevitable. Stalin had already devised a plan to attack Germany, and Hitler knew that. The only reason Hitler attack Russia, was because in a year or two, he knew they'd attack him, because Stalin was no idiot. Hitler had the element of surprise on his side, but sadly he was fighting a two-front war.
The Americans were already shipping supplies to the Brits, so it was only a matter of time before they'd join the war. Everyone knew this. So again, the reason Japan attack was to weaken America's naval fleet by surprise attacking them. If Japan didn't bomb Pearl Harbour, Japan would have surrendered much sooner.

You sure about this? Here's a quote from wiki(not that they're always right):
During Adolf Hitler's childhood, academics were not his strong point. In grade school, Hitler's grades in Mathematics, Science, History, German, and French were adequate at best and this greatly displeased his father, Alois Schickelgruber. However, in the early 1900s Adolf Hitler showed an interest in art and began to excel very quickly. Hitler's average grades were good enough to get him accepted in a university preparatory "gymnasium" or the technical/scientific, Realschule. He chose Realschule because they offered a course in drawing. In 1906, Adolf was permitted to visit Vienna, but he was unable to gain admission to their prestigious art school. None the less, this did not stop him from creating more works of art. Hitler went on to produce many drawings throughout his life. An auction was held on April 23, 2009 for works that Hitler had painted. It was estimated that his paintings would raise $50,000 but to many people's surprise, his paintings generated over $120,000.

100% sure. He may have painted, but he didn't want to become an artist. That's why he designed the Olympic building in Berlin for the.. 1938? Olympics. He wanted to be an architect (He even says so in Mein-Kampf).

It all depends on what you consider a Barbarian. In my opinion, Atilla the Hun wasn't a Barbarian. His people were very sophisticated, and his "country" was very rich. They were more technologically advanced than the Byzantines, and were the first people to implement an entire army consisting of only Horsemen and Horse Archers.

Really? didn't know that. In the movie, it shows them only knowing war, pulling limbs apart, and obsessed with "sorcery" and "magic".
But they did seem smart and superior.
But in the game, it obviously doesn't matter. Just talking about making the game more historically accurate.

Here's a little fact, movies are not REAL. "Based on a true story" means it's NOT a true story. I know, big shocker right? ;)

You OBVIOUSLY don't get what I'm saying.
OBVIOUSLY Atilla the Hun was real, I'm just using the movie as an example.
And OBVIOUSLY what I'm saying is that making the game more historically accurate would be nice, instead of fighting some Norte Chico dude. It's WAY TOO CARTONNISH GAME. I'M TIRED OF LISTENING TO RANDOM JIBBERISH OF THE LEADERS TALKING AS WELL.
At least maybe they could speak in the language they used in real life, and the advisors the same.
I'm a little upset at you Wooly,

Aw, don't be mad sizzle, didn't direct that at you in my post;). You did, however, ruin your case by saying "what do you think 300 was made for?" in a previous post. No animosity here, you can add "love" back to your sig :)

no.
I don't get it, was that supposed to be a joke or something?
I'm going to second what pedal2medal is saying that the chinese dominate over the zulu any day. (I probably should have put this in the other thread)
Once expansion hath completeth, thou est prepared for domination technologically and therefore a domination victory.

hmm?
didn't know that the chinese vs. zulu thing was being questioned. of course the chinese are better, as long as they stop the initial rush (which is very very easy for the chinese - 3 pop = BW or HBR in 4 turns)

Is that the movie title misspelled, or a user-name?
In either case though, no.:(

If it is the movie it is misspelled.
Don't ask me to spell it.
I think it is Valkyrie.
That still looks wrong.
Idk.

I figured out what animosity means, like a long arguement, dispute, heated rivalry.
Also, did you know that a name "The Elizabethian Age" was given because of the fact that most people think that it was the greatest time of artistic acheivement.

It has now been proven that Marie Antionette, the wife of Louise the sixteenth, did not say "let them eat cake".
She was rumored to say it when her castle was being overrun by angry, hungry women.

wow, how do you catch things like that?
I listen to queen a lot in the car, and I really never noticed that before.
Perhaps it is talking about her.
But that's not where I got it from.

here's the lyrics
She keeps Moet et Chandon, in her pretty cabinet
Let them eat cake she says, just like Marie Antoinette
A built in remedy, for Khrushchev and Kennedy
At anytime an invitation, you can't decline
Caviar and cigarettes
Well versed in etiquette
Extraordinarily nice
She's a Killer Queen
Gunpowder, gelatine
Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime, ooh
Recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try?
To avoid complications
She never kept the same address
In conversation, she spoke just like a baroness
Met a man from China, went down to Geisha Minah
Then again incidentally, if you're that way inclined
Perfume came naturally from Paris
For cars she couldn't care less
Fastidious and precise
She's a Killer Queen
Gunpowder, gelatine
Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime
Drop of a hat she's a willing as
Playful as a pussy cat
Then momentarily out of action
Temporarily out of gas
To absolutely drive you wild, wild..
She's all out to get you
She's a Killer Queen
Gunpowder, gelatine
Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime, ooh
Recommended at the price
Insatiable an appetite
Wanna try?
You wanna try
and here's the explaination
In the New Musical Express November 2, 1974, the song's writer Freddie Mercury elucidates on this song: "It's about a high class call girl. I'm trying to say that classy people can be *****s as well. That's what the song is about, though I'd prefer people to put their interpretation upon it - to read into it what they like."
