is it possible, through the menus in bioshock, to turn OFF the crosshair and play without one or am i forced to play with that circular aiming aid?
maybe the 360 guys can answer that....

I wish, it seems that there is no option in the demo. But that doesn't mean the final versions of PC and 360 won't have that ability.
Unfortunatley it seems somewhat unlikely, but we can only hope.

You know, the crosshair doesnt even bother me in this game. Its white/gray and transparant, and when I play I dont even think its disturbing.

yea. i hope so too. i would guess that there won't be such an option cuz aiming plasmids will not be possible without a crosshair.
but by looking at the videos i dont understand why would we need a zoom key if the crosshair is so accurate and small anyway. usually aiming is meant for MORE ACCURATE shooting, but if it's only short distances firefights and shooting is as accurate as it gets with weapons, why would i need a zoom option anyway?

the plasmid crosshair is imo too big, but hopefully there's an option to turn it off in the Retail version och atleast change to a smaller one

I can barely see the crosshair for weapons, and I like how big it is for plasmids.

can u really tell me why would you need a zoom option for weapons if the crosshair is so accurate to begin with? beside the unnessessary zooming, what advantage do u get from the zoom function? does it make you more accurate?

It would be cool for a long rang type weapon, that would be a good use for zoom.

concidering there are no long ranges in bioshock, i dont understand the gameplay decision....
it's not that im saying that the zoom functionality should have been dropped. im saying that the crosshair for the unzoomed view should be a lot less accurae.

That's not the point. I was hoping for it so it would be more challenging.

Think of it this way, your bullets radius from your weapons cover 1 foot, I know that's wrong, just bear with me....then your plasmids have a radius of 5-7 feet, also wrong, just putting it in the big picture. So plasmids have a bigger area than what your bullets can cover. Plus, the developers want your super awesome hitting anything you shoot at, at anytime!:D

In probably any video you'll see that there is no crosshair, so it'll probably be an option.

I'd love to use this game as a showpiece for my tv and sound system, I would love to have a no crosshairs option and even a no gui option so there's absolutely nothing but the environment and whatever weapon you have equipped.

This is a disappointment. There is indeed no point to using iron sights because guns are perfectly accurate without them...
And I especially don't like the plasmid reticle, because it's not accurate. You would think if the target is somewhere in the reticle, they will get hit, but the plasmid only works on what is in the direct center of the reticle... so why didn't they just make the reticle smaller to get an accurate representation? The only time the reticle is accurate is with auto-aim on, which seems to just make hitboxes much larger.
I hope they release a patch to disable crosshairs. It is crazy there isn't a toggle option... especially after showing how cool it looked without them in all the gameplay demos. This blows.
