What difficulty are you starting on?

I think i might go for the gold and go straight to hard (unless you gotta unlock it after you play Med or easy which would'nt make me too happy, i got angry at prey for that...) what about you guys???? After the demo and my experience with other shooters i think its do able and it would make each cut scene so much awesome feeling knowing i whooped it on the hardest. Thoughts?

Hard; then I can save all the LS. Thus I'll get the achievements to beat it on Hard, Harvest/Save every Little Sister, and Save every LS. At the least.

you're probably right, the splicers weren't that bad on Med( although some of those leadheads almost got the best of my at first) but the big daddy will probably own me and change my mind for me as well, but once you take him down it will be oh so sweet. argh choices.

I will say Hard since I played the Demo on Hard, by changing my Default difficulty to hard and I didn't die once but that was the last time I played and it was my 2nd Attempt at Hard the first time i only died once.

Go into your profile on the 360, change the default game setting difficulty to hard, once you start the game hard will be automatically selected.

My opinion hasn't changed since playing the demo. (But DAMN! Hard is really tough as far as managing resources. I walked out of the demo alive, but with barely any health or eve packs at all.)

Well, I am not a console gamer - especially when it comes to shooters. I was able to make it through the demo with just enough challenge on medium, but I tend to do MUCH better with a mouse and keyboard, so I think I'll try playing through on hard mode when I go pick up my PC copy.

That, and I've been really looking forward to this game. I want it to last as long as possible, and playing it on HARD will surely make it last.

i believe it will be best if i start on medium, not because of my incapability to do it on hard, but because if you play on hard first there is no way to make the game more challenging for yourself after that. And people who say they wanna play hard first for longivity, no, because then all you will be able to play on is hard, its not like your gonna beat hard and then go back and play a lesser difficulty it would just be lame. so by playing on medium first you will atleast guarentee yourself 1 more playthrough. happy days!! :D

Like I said earlier, Hard, not only for achievements but to prove to me that the game isn't just some Legendary rip-off where enemies do more damage. I want to justify that my skills and knowledge of the world and outsmart the heightened opposition. I played Hard on the demo, it was so easy once I knew what I was doing, I'd shock and go for a headshot, hack the turrets and cameras, and effectively use plasmids and my abilities in other situations.

I'd whole heartedly agree. Starting on hard and completing it makes it almost a moot point to go back through on medium. I will most likely start on easy and go from there to hard making sure I don't miss anything. Thats just me though, whatever floats your boat :) .

Here's another good question though, when was the last time you've ever played on easy? I think for me I finally realized that I was not playing the game the way the developers created it so I started playing normal from then on.

Harder enemies, harder hitting damage, and more HP are all standard hard mode effects. Would be interesting that if in the real game that it adds more monsters along with less resources.

Even with the 1-2 Punch, it takes a lot to kill a guy. Very awesome. Not only that, most of the time the AI dodges your attacks and hides and then catches you unaware. ahghghghghghghghg

But this is only the beginning of the game, and that was still harder than most FPSs on hard, hahaha.
