Duke Nukem Forever is Take 2' huge joker and it is nearing its completion fast. :) So it is just natural to present the game to the people at a fitting platform like E3 expo. Can't wait to see the game unleashed

so DNF reached an important milestone last week, when 2K wants to start the hype train?

I've strayed away from DNF and now this happens?

It is good news but I think at this point people are done with it until something substantial happen. I Barely even remember Duke Nukem 3D - Or the 2d Apogee versions.
It seems at this point they have to create the best game ever to live up to all the waiting. I love 3dRealms and all but the whole when its done so leave us alone thing is about 10 years past it's novelty.
The release date of this game is "When it's done". Anything else, and we mean anything else is someone's speculation. There is no date. We don't know any date. If you have a friend who claims they have "inside info", or there's some game news site, or some computer store at the mall who claims they know - they do not. They are making it up. There is no date. Period.

I hope they present DNF at E3. Duke Nukem 64 was what comprised of my childhood time with cousins. Blowing each other up with missiles, making em fade away with the plasma-gun...ah, nostalgia. How I miss you.

Rumor: 3D Realms shuts down. What does this mean for DNF?

The link I posted has details.
No word from 3D Realms on this.
However, Geoff Keighley had said DNF is cancelled. http://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/1727588274

2K games:
Please capitalize on helping 3D realms through this difficult time. The internet community is reeling from the devastating news concerning 3D Realms. Consider how much you will be boosting your brand recognition and other benefits, by stretching out your hands and assisting 3Drealms and their staff. Some of us have waited for Duke Nukem Forever for a decade. Please make this dream possible for all the Duke nukem fans.
Thank you for your time:

Just to set the bar on peoples expectations, don't expect appeals on these forums to have much effect on any decision regarding DNF.
Take-Two Interactive is a large software company that owns a number of software development and publishing companies. 3D Realms, who are the makers of DNF, are one of the development companies. 2K Games are one of the publishing companies.
Elizabeth, the person who runs these forums, is the community manager for 2K Games. I have no idea of what the 2K company structure is like, but I would imagine it's something like this:
* Elizabeth reports to the director of marketing.
* The director of marketing reports to the CEO.
* The CEO and board of directors report to Take-Two.
As you can see, there's a very indirect link between these forums and anybody at Take-Two.
Now, I'm not going to tell anybody to stop asking. But if this thread (or any other regarding DNF) is closed, it will be because there's nothing that 2K Games can do to influence the decision that Take-Two eventually make.

DNF is over. Nobody is going to pick it up and finish it. They gave out massive details, I.E. the FULL plotline, gave out a bunch more screenshots, etc. Links are here. http://www.duke4.net/news.php
Duke is over.

Always bet on Duke ;)
No way it's over...IF there is as much of the game done as the rumor has it.
Now, If there are only the few minutes of gameplay plus the bunch of screenies released that we have seen, then yeah, it's over. And that would make me ask what the hell George did for 12 years?
But if 75% of the game has been finished...at least to Beta standards...then no way that gets thrown in a corner. Espicially with the demand, and I mean DEMAND for this game the way it is! There is a "stand off" right now. It is between George and Take Two. I think George comes to his senses and either finishes the game in his garage, or sells it to Take Two, who made him an offer. Either way, one day the game will be released, in my opinion. Too much money at stake here.
Here are some screenies that some of you may not have seen. Enjoy.

RIP 3D Relms i think DNF can now stand for Did Not Finish. Although Take-Two still owns the publishing rights, I think it is pretty safe to say after 12 years this game is dead. quite a shame.

if Duke doesn't appear until the last day of E3, his current build is lost I guess.

I think DNF might be screwed. First, being sued by Take Two. Second, it is a much smaller team working on finishing it. Finally, since someone revealed the entire plot, a whole new one would need to be worked out, and since the team as a whole is shut down, I doubt they can do that.
Just my 2¢.
... Eh?

They spent 20 million of there own dollars, there is no way this is going to just go away. the game is 80 percent done, according to 3DR. They would be stupid not to get this game out "When It's Done". Somebody is going to be filthy rich because this game is going to sell very well despite the wait.

I don't even want it now, too much drama, too long of a wait and the whole game has been spoiled beyond belief.
