Bioshock release TIME- Midnight?

I used the search function but didn't come up with anything. I was wondering if the game is being released at midnight (as in Monday night, but turning Tuesday morning) or if it would be released just at opening of said store on Tuesday. I live in Connecticut (east coast USA), and I'm buying from game stop.

Gamestop_Bioshock who is a member here says it depends on how many Preorders the store you preordered from got if it was alot they will have a midnight launch.

take eb games for example. How will I know if the have a midnight release?

I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and my local GameStop will be open and selling BioShock at 12:01 AM!!! I'm so excited, even though I doubt it will be a huge event since not many people around here seem to know or care about BioShock.

Man, I'd *love* to have a midnight release! That would be awesome! My place totally sucks, though, so I highly doubt it'll have one. There might be a store in the city doing that, though. I should really check around.

yes, poison is right. i'm not sure how many preorders your gamestop/eb has, but it does depend on that. the problem i'm finding for our store is that it comes out a week after madden, which of course always gets a midnight sale... so it may be tough to convince the store manager to have push for two consecutive weeks of midnight sales :( trust me, i'm trying because it certainly deserves one!

It would be cool, but there has only EVER been 4 midnight releases at my local EB games, they were for Halo2,Wii,World of Warcraft,WoW: Burning Crusade. Sadly, I don't think they will have one for Bioshock, but you never know.

I have a friend that works at the same GameStop and he said the only reason they're doing it is because his store has the most reserves in the district. He also mentioned something about his store manager being a huge System Shock I & II fan and really wanted to pick up the game at midnight on Tuesday morning and got the OK from the district manager to do so.

Wow, that really stinks, a crappy game like Madden 08 gets a midnight release regardless and you have to push for BioShock? I think it should be the other way around. Seriously, how important is it to see your team play a football game before the store opens? It's not like there's going to be something groundbreaking in it like there will be in BioShock.

I don't even know how many preordered from the Store I preordered at, but I think I might even be first on the List since I preordered a few days after they announced the Limited Edition.

Anyway, I really wish my store was opening at midnight to sell BioShock, but unfortunately not so. I have to show up at 9:30 tomorrow night to get ready for the stupid Madden 2008 midnight opening. Why can't BioShock be coming out tomorrow instead of Madden? :(

yeah, i've been following it for so long, the day i started at the store i preordered it and then of course switched to the collector's edition the day it went into the computer... of all collector's editions to ever spend the extra 10 on, 2k has certainly rewarded us with something special :)

i'm kind of disappointed in the lack of marketing to be honest, i've done my part by making name tags for all the employees and even a few signs for the game, but we really don't have much in the way of promoting the game aside from the usual cover art. I think it'll be a hit once word of mouth gets around, lets just hope we keep copies of the game in to sell in the days after the initial launch!

yeah i'm one of the assistants at my store, so yeah i know what you mean. i have to be up there at 9:30 as well for the madden midnight sale. it would have been nice to maybe have them released the same day so that way we could sell both at midnight, but alas it just didn't work out that way. Our store manager claims he's going to hide them from me once they come in prior to the street date! ha
