Ok so people think that the main character is atlas right? well i might have some evidence that shows otherwise
http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?playlist_id=3095
now at about 2:18 atlas is like "steady steady your genetic code is being rewritten with a plasmid called electrobolt" now if you were atlas im prety sure you would have used a plasmid before, so how can i get rewriten again? assuming atlas has used plasmids.
just thought id share some findings.

But what if the person claiming to be Atlas, is actually someone impersonating him? And you're Atlas, but because you have amnesia you've forgotten?
Far-fetched? Sure. But who knows.

Plus, at the beginning of the game, Atlas chases off a splicer who tries to kill you with a security bot. If he was you he couldn't have possibly known that was going to happen.

except they didn't use computers much smarter than your alarm clock back then... just a thought
and
Geez, you are NOT ATLAS!
Don't you think it would be a bit inconsistant for Irrational to steal a storyline like that?
It's more likely for you to have an ending at the end where you've finally found Andrew Ryan and he's cornered. He sent his lackies at you, but you took them down one by one, and now he's defenseless. He trys to convince you to leave him alone, or even join him in rebuilding his city.
"Naaah" BOOM! Shot in the head.

They do have computers smarter then alarm clocks, in Rapture, like the Security Bots.

Sorry, but it was an expression. You are right about the bots though.
But something that would interface with a human brain is something we don't even have today. :(

Why would atlas tell himself that his own DNA is rearranging?

Jack is NOT Atlas.
In the intro of the demo he says that he parents always told him that:
He was destined for great things.
And he replies:
They were right.
The name on the present he's holding says to Jack from Mom and Dad.
Plus he has the two tatoos on both of his wrists that look like chains.
Plus he doesn't speak with an Irish accent.
He is NOT Atlas.

this quote from a famous movie sums it up "Why would we lie to ourselves?"
