So George Broussard showed 2K the game. Also There are many indications that DNF is in the final stages of development. :)
This most probably means that 2K is thinking about or even working on a media campaign for DNF right now.
When can we expect news on this issue 2K? :)

Ah, DNF. Notorious for delays. :p
On a serious note, I think that if it doesn't release late this year, it should release early-mid 2010.

Also, anyone that works on something will hype it up because they believe in it. Various products of overhyped stuff all over the industry. When I see it moving, then I'll be excited. Until then, it's still a myth.......

I dont know. It looks pretty good, but....Some of that footage looks Alpha, plus some of the graphics are kind of dated. It looks cool dont get me wrong. Some of the recent screens look very good.
I got a weird feeling about all of this. That footage is being watched more than anything online, the title is super hot, but GB just closed down 3D Realms. Something doesnt feel right here. So a tripple A blockbuster FPS that is supposed to be mostly done and the whole gaming world is screaming and clawing for, is going to be let go? No way...too much money in that. I smell a rat...
So George actually (a few months back) told Take Two to "STFU" during a conversastion? Why would anyone that was about to ask their publisher for funds, say such a thing? And why would George leak all this **** on Twitter like talking about poker, and acting like he has been playing WoW, eating pizza and hiring strippers instead of making the game? And when the funds were not granted, GB suddenly shuts down 3D Realms, instead of getting a loan (which could be easily had considering the hype over DNF), and quickly finishing an almost finished game? And why would GB a few months ago suddenly re-instate Apogee software, which was always the name that 3D Realms was under back in the 90's? That just doesnt add up...
Mabey I am a conspiracy theorist, but I ma starting to see a picture here. So George ports the game to the Xbox 360 and starts they hype train for 360 gamers. Then he starts to anger Take Two by telling them to STFU, lets it leak out that he is playing poker and WoW and wasting time, so he looks incompetent. At the same time he re-instates Apogee. He then doesnt get the funds he wants, so he shuts down 3D Realms. Those are the facts. Now here is what I think is possible: He gets together a few core code writers, announces he will finish the game, and finds a loophole to get out of Take Two and publish it under Apogee?

I'm not gonna lie. That made me HOPE that someone finishes it.
This was from January. He did an interview in March about the development of DNF and how it was plagued with bad design choices. This blog post has no bearing on 3DR's current situation.

Just as a bit of clarity, Take-Two is our parent company. 2K is a publishing label under Take-Two (like Rockstar.)

Well, not just publishing anymore...now development too ;) (Bioshock).
I'm not gonna lie. That made me HOPE that someone finishes it.
lol no doubt, from what was leaked out, this game looks fun.... and it better be after all the wait. I think DNF will eventually come out, I mean 12+ years and millions of dollars i doubt it is just gonna go away, somebody is going to make some money off this.
And from what I understand Take Two is trying to sue 3DR for failing to produce the game after 12 years. so maybe there is still hope for the Duke. I guess we will find out the future of Duke Nukem Forever, ..... well in the future.

Well, 3DR, George Boussard specifically, came out earlier today stating the facts from his company's side.
Contrary to what's been said so far, they stated that development of DNF has costed no more and no less than the self-funded sum of $20M (American), and accused Take Two's legal maneuver a 'bully tactic to accquire the IP rights over DNF'.
I don't care whatever happens in the end. This game looks amazing, truthful to what real games were like a decade ago, and I want to see it, I want to play it. I don't care if damn EA or even Micro$oft ends up publishing Duke Nukem Forever. It's a game I've been waiting since I was 8.
And I'll always bet on Duke.
