The kits come with patterns. You "trace" it on the pumpkin by poking little depressions, then you use the little jigsaw to cut out all the pieces. Therapeutic way to spend an hour or three...and you get a nifty pumpkin in the process. :D

The trick is coming up with your own patterns.

The new frontier is shaving the pumpkin to various thicknesses, without completely piercing it, so the light shines through in various degrees of brightness. THAT can be crazy impressive.

Actually did the pencils and inking at work... hence the 1000 errors in this image. Andrew Ryan looks nothing like that, yet this was the image I had in my head. Perhaps a younger Ryan? Well he has more hair in my picture anyways :P lol

Tenenbaum... Well we do see a pic when she talks, but it wasn't clear at the time I did this drawing. I remember an audio diary talking about her looks though, so I went with that - messy hair and the yellow jumper she wears all the time.... Only she came out looking like April O'Neil, now doesn't she? XD

Fontaine looks fine to me though :P So hush!

Jack... Jack came out looking fine I think. I based myself on the photographs you find halfway through the game. The photos of Jack's intrusion to Rapture. Yes, I'm 100% positive the gun is wrong... but SHUT UP! haha

Okay well... I don't wanna start a novel so I'll stop here. The Waterstained version was actually an accident, but I liked it nevertheless. :)

Disturbing in the unattractive way that the Little Sister looks;

Sad in the way that the BD appears to be genuinely confused as to why he cannot eat his cone... he has it pressed against his armor. You can almost hear him groaning in disappointment...

Hey Everyone, I'm a little confused (no relation to Chief A small thing).
I have just spent the last hour going though all 80 pages and 797 entries in this thread, and while I'm pleasently surprized by the great art work and talent here, I'm very disappointed in what I DIDN'T see: Rapture itself. The city where it all takes place. In 797 entries I have only found : 3 locations (of 2 places), three showing only the shadow of the city, and only 2 great pictures (although the best is seen thru a very small window),
Please, I'm not complaining. I realize the beauty you've all done. I'm just wondering WHY. There's a dark beauty in the ruins that make up Rapture, and after looking thru all your works I KNOW many of you can make Beauty in Shadows. Again, I'm not asking you to do so, I'm just wondering, why not? I'm a artist only in words, so I don't know, but I would love to know. Can you explain?

Yeah, I might plan to make other photo manipulations. Depends on where my muse guides me. I've been using Photoshop for over a year, and at first... it was overwhelming, and with a little help through tutorials... and mostly everything by playing around with different tools... I started to get a better understand of how the system works. That pic alone took me a good hour or so to make it look right. I hope I gave it that "BioShock-esque" feel and atmosphere to it.

Haha, thanks. That picture alone took me almost an hour to make it look right. I tried to combine a blue hue and a sepia tone to give it that "underwater" and "primitive" look to it. Of course, combined with a wrinkly paper aesthetic, some coffee cup stains, a torn piece, then you got yourself a poster from Rapture.

And no, it's not supposed to be me. A friend of mine looked so much like Atlas, I figured why not show everyone? Of course, I have his permission to use his face lol.

hey this is my first post... just thought i'd like to share a piece with everyone.

i was sort of inspired by the concept art for the big daddies and i tried to make a more realistically proportioned big daddy. i'm trying to keep the equipment and such the same, but it's hard because it's physically impossible to have a body like the bouncers in the game. here it is:

Currently I'm planning on drawing a bioshock poster on a large poster size special paper for my wall!
Using pencils as a medium, all my good colouring pencils are gone, i'm more confident with grey.

And for practise I will be draw a few big daddies and colouring them on the computer, seeing what works best, I'll keep you informed if I do it soon!

Nice job. The only things I noticed were the shadow from the Big Sister's arm goes in the wrong direction, and there's the grain on the Big Sister that isn't on the background. It should be easy enough to add.

Ok guys i have a treat for you.
Not too long ago in my 3D design class my professor wanted us to create an object that is both abstract and representational at the same.Well being the Bioshock fanatic i decided to make a sort of time bomb you'd see somewhere in the world of rapture.Well i turned it in and got an A+,but my professor has it at the moment so for now i can only show you the sketch and then when i get it back this week i'll let you guys see the finished product. And hey who knows,maybe liz can submit my idea for use in a future Bioshock title.:p

And your Big Sister art is pretty neat too, although it would've been cooler (imo) if you drew her killing a Splicer Assassin-Creed-style. Wrist blade + neck = dead splicer & more ADAM. Keep up the good work!

Other then the fact that it creeps me out, I think you did a fantastic job on faithfully recreating that LS concept art into a cgi version. Just a few brushes here and there then I think your model will be worthy of a appearance in a game.

Well, I didn't make it every day but I think in 1 and a half week I could have had it done (modelling and texturing). The image I posted wasn't a render, it was a screen capture from Unreal Engine 3 (the one that uses Bioshock)

Wow, that is a pretty amazing comic. The artwork is so stark and disturbing, and the antithesis of what the people want to accomplish and how they are going about it is fantastic. I can't wait to read the rest of it.

Awesome. It's like one of those mysterious Star Wars posters that show Anakin but also his "future" as Darth Vader (like the one where they subtly shape Anakin's cloak into Vader's mask or the other poster that shows young Anakin walking but instead of his shadow it's Vader's shadow!). :cool:

You should really add a radio background static between each radio message at the start. The sudden radio noise in the dialog is very distracting, rather it blends in. :D

I was doing a glass course and had to do some reserahc on Art Deco, so I bought Bioshock knowing it was praised for its art direction and I pretty much fell in love with the game!

So when I had to my main project I wanted to do something influenced by the game!

Ha thanks very much! God I wish it was my full time job, but unfortunaltey I sit at a desk and let my brain rot whilst ringing people up. Its so boring that I spend my time day dreaming about being creative!

Playing Bioshock is a family affair- my husband, son and I love the game! My son begged me to make a Bioshock quilt for his room. It was great fun discussing the theme, shopping for fabric and choosing the plasmids together. I especially love how the logo came out- it matches the real logo quite well, considering that it's made of fabric and thread.

I'm a fiber artist, so I consider this quilt my fan art. :) Of course, a bioshock 2 quilt is planned to follow this one! :)

Bioshock is so inspiring. The stylistic look of its characters is a welcome change to the more realistic approach I've taken with my previous work. Probably start a splicer figure in October or sooner.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and saw this thread about bioshock fan art. I made a Sander Cohen figure about 2 months ago and thought I'd share some pics.

The only things I didn't make was his white shirt and the poseable body. I'm seriously considering making some splicers or even Jack someting in the future. What do you think?

Thanks Atlas. I remember on my first (maybe second after finding out you could go in there) playthrough I thought that green bottle on his desk was a special item. I'd make everything from fort frolic if I had the time and money :).
