Completely Stuck

Okay...so I'm in Neptune's Bounty. The part where I'm required to take pictures of 3 spider slicers. Well, I took photos of the first two and upon taking a photo of the last one, I accidentally blew it up. Now it just lies there glowing yellow. I try to take a photo and says "score too low". I have tried from every angle and have also ran around the map for 2 hours hoping it would respawn...nothing. I have killed 3 Rosies that keep respawning but the last slicer won't. I am at my wits end and am ready to quit the game entirely. All I do is run around and do...well...basically nothing. I can't get past the barred gate in the upper warf because I think its locked from the other side now.

I would really appreciate any help I can get with this.

Try loading from your last checkpoint and start that one part over again and be sure not to kill the splicer.

This my only option? I've gotten 2 little sisters in this time period and would hate to have to go back to the checkpoint.

Odd... it shouldn't say score too low, any critical photos usual require quite a poor shot at the least. Try beating the corpse around a bit to get it in a better position or near something else that will up the score.

Killing the big daddies again really isnt that big a deal if you would like to actually get past that part of the game lol. Plus, what are you going to do if you cant take those pictures etc..? hmmmm? Try anything you have in mind, but when you cant figure out no more... the load chapter selection will always be there. ;D

Well...there is only half the corpse left. From the shoulders up appears to be gone. LOL...

This is crazy. Perhaps it will respawn if I start taking a bunch of photos of respawning other slicers. There has to be a way out of this without going back. I doubt they would make the game with that happening.

I've googled this problem and found two other people that ran into this same problem but their solution was never posted...if they found one.

I guess maybe I'll sleep on it and hope someone comes up with a new idea. If nobody does, I'll guess I'll have to go backward to go forward. What a waste.

It was more than just the big daddies...I had unlocked some other stuff and had spent over an hour since the lack checkpoint. Like I said, I just find it hard to believe I'd have to do that. Haven't noticed that in another game before.

You can't only have half a corpse, when dead the splicers just become ragdolls they don't get cut into pieces. And you need the whole body in the picture I believe. It might just be the face though, I know it is for the ones later on in the game. not sure about the spider splicers though.

So you think I should try to jostle the corpse? I can't think of any way to shake it up. Any ideas?

i ran into this problem 3 times its sooo easy to fix:

load or let a splicer run after you whilst the splicer still is alive take a picture of the spider and the normal splicer but as central point the spider splicer

Research the Rosies enough in the area to get a Photographer's Eye.

I'm pretty sure you can't pick up photo-specific ragdolls with TK. They sort of glue themselves the the ground. You can move them by throwing stuff at them though.

Okay. This is just an update for anyone who basically did what i did, which is google this problem trying to find an answer. There isn't one. I tried everything people on here suggested (thanks for the attempts guys) and nothing worked. I tried EVERYTHING. Eventually just decided to go back to my last save and do it all again, making sure not to kill the spider slicer.

It was actually suggested on another site this is a known glitch that doesn't get fixed because you can get past it by just going back to another save point and NOT making the same mistake.

This is an uncommon problem that has been mentioned before. The spider splicer that this most commonly happens to is the one in the Post Office. If you do not attack her and run out of the room and come back some time later she will be gone. She can reappear on the Upper Wharf but sometimes she does not. There are cases where once you kill her with any explosives she will glow yellow but you get the score too low error.

This has also happened to the splicer in the Tavern as well on rare occasion.

The easiest fix is to restart the level or load up a save game from that level if you have it.

By the way. I just thought I would debunk this in case anyone thought of trying it. Doesn't work...and that about says everything you need to know.

I think I had the same thing that I killed the last one while battling the big daddy, but I got away with it for some reason. Can't remember what I did, but I am sure I was so frustrated when I knew I killed the 3rd splicer without picturing it.

you can take a picture of dead splicers. it just scores lower for some strange reason...

Yeah you can still take shots of them dead and they will count, doesnt matter about the score for mission related shots like the spider's for Peach and shots of Cohen's dead diciples better to get them live if you can but if you cant then dead would do for the shot

Not in this case, at least this early in the game. The camera wouldn't even shoot the shot. It wouldn't run any film. The point is the score was so low that it wouldn't give you credit for snapping the photo of the last splicer. Now matter how many photos I would take it would still say 2 out of the 3 splicers were photographed. Without the 3rd photo you can't advance to the next point.

Hmm...try moving the corpse where it's better lit, that might help. Also, there is a fourth spider splicer. When you come back down, there's a tonic sitting there, by the Gatherer's Garden. You'll hear a splicer humming "If I Didn't Care". Once you near the tonic and pick it up, she'll yell "My rose! I want it back!" and she'll jump down. At that moment, take the picture, no matter the pose and you'll have your third picture. :)
And if you're wondering who that is, it's the one that comes out and attacks you when you're talking to Peachy. She's also the one that guts Johnny in the beginning before your very eyes before stepping out of the Bathysphere. ;)

Im sure i managed to get one before when it was dead... hmm maybe i was thinking of something else. Guess all you can do then is reload a previous save before that and get them alive. She may reappear but could take ages if at all

you could use telekinesis to throw stuff at the corpse or you could probably just beat it with a wrench...it might help your score if they are on fire or something like that but thats just an idea...or see if you could attract another splicer over to the dead one and try to get them both in the shot...that should up your score enough to get what you need
