Plasmids and Gene Tonics by research

Okay...so I know plasmids are active powers...and gene tonics are passive powers...but I don't quiet understand how you would get a certain plasmid or gene tonic by researching a specific splicer. Like would it then be available to you in the gatherer's garden? Please explain if anyone understands.

You get them by researching splicers that use those specific tonics or plasmids. By researching them, you are gathering information about those plasmids.

Yeah, I kinda just said that. I meant like after researching them enough you just automatically get it? Because wouldn't you need to use Adam to get it? Like would after researching them enough then it would become available at a gatherer's garden like other plasmids and gene tonics?

Im not sure. It would probobly become available at the gatherers garden.

Or you would then know what it takes to ivent the tonic or plasmid.
