I just recently found out that Xbox 360 civ rev players have different rooms they can choose for FFA, so they don't have to play against noobs or you can pick you matchup. I'm not sure if they have it for H2H, but WHY DOESN'T PS3 HAVE THE SAME???????

This would make my online gaming experience a lot better. I'm sick of wasting my time playing against ppl that lose their capitol to barbs 10 turns into the game, or only getting 2-5 points for a win. About one in three games I meet someone who really knows strategy, and that's fun. I just wish there were some options, and it would probably speed up the matchup process as well.

I'm by no means saying I'm the best Civ Rev player out there, right now I'm ranked 2 on H2H, and it seems like there are a lot more great players way down the list because of the imperfect leaderboard system on gamespy. Wish I could have some kind of hand in choosing who I play.

As it stands right now, if I win, no matter what, I get 2-5 points, sometimes 10-15 if I rack up a lot of points. if I lose to no matter who, I'll drop at least 25 points, usually more. This forces top ten players to win 95% of the time to maintain their rating, with little chance for overall advancement to the leaderboard. If top players where able to find top players, you'd at least start having a more accurate leaderboard.

If we could choose rooms, we would do. You can do that ONLY ON UNRANKED GAMES. If you meant unranked games, then, I don't see really the problem, because out of about 50 tries I have seen 2-3 times players in unranked games. If you could do that in ranked games, than, I would obviously try to avoid cheaters or new players and play straight good players.

ok my bad,:o

thanks morte for clearing that up :)

it would be nice to have a more flexible matchup system, but this late after the release, I know it won't be in the cards. I'd be playing this game still everyday even without leaderboards or a less functioning MP experience (maybe I should check into that civ anonymous program)

that post was written out of frustration, and I'm sorry if the noobs comments in it were unnessecary, because typically I don't believe that kind of disscusion helps progress an intelligent and constructive diaglogue about the game.
