I just recently found out that Xbox 360 civ rev players have different rooms they can choose for FFA, so they don't have to play against noobs or you can pick you matchup. I'm not sure if they have it for H2H, but WHY DOESN'T PS3 HAVE THE SAME???????
This would make my online gaming experience a lot better. I'm sick of wasting my time playing against ppl that lose their capitol to barbs 10 turns into the game, or only getting 2-5 points for a win. About one in three games I meet someone who really knows strategy, and that's fun. I just wish there were some options, and it would probably speed up the matchup process as well.
I'm by no means saying I'm the best Civ Rev player out there, right now I'm ranked 2 on H2H, and it seems like there are a lot more great players way down the list because of the imperfect leaderboard system on gamespy. Wish I could have some kind of hand in choosing who I play.
As it stands right now, if I win, no matter what, I get 2-5 points, sometimes 10-15 if I rack up a lot of points. if I lose to no matter who, I'll drop at least 25 points, usually more. This forces top ten players to win 95% of the time to maintain their rating, with little chance for overall advancement to the leaderboard. If top players where able to find top players, you'd at least start having a more accurate leaderboard.
