PS3 games

Gday everyone :)

I'm new to the forums and I was looking to get into some PS3 games online. I've gone through the previous threads but I was a little confused over how to join a game, all I seem to get is playing against computer AI? :confused: Any help would be appreciated. I've just downloaded v1.30 and I am hoping this might fix my problems. My psn is StagsRubes if anyone wants to be friends as well if that helps. I'm from Canberra, Australia, I will be trying to be playing in the evenings eastern standard time. chees Stags.

ps. I have had a great time reading the forum posts over the last couple of weeks, its been very interesting reading all the strategies and game storiesfrom players like Morte, Hellogoodbye and all the others, nice work fellas, great to see such an active community!

Ok I don't think 1.30 has fixed my problem. I go into ranked custom games and after a long time evaluating games, I get a game screen where I can choose my nation and I am waiting on others to join but I can't bring up any existing games? This seems to happen no matter what options I choose.

Just wait... Start with ranked H2H, since you need just one opponent. Anyway, yes, patch 1.30 fixed somehow the joining mechanism but not too many people are playing anymore.

you're probably not finding many games due to your time zone. I don't know what the time change is between Austrailia and the US, but for me, the times when I find the most games are between 7pm and 11pm central time us (i live in texas, often for international time zones you see my time zone listed under mexico city or chicago time).

Any later at night and I draw more people from the west coast of USA and Europe (guess ppl like to play morning games there.)

I do think less people are playing the game online now, but the game is by no means dead. I usually can get in 2-5 games H2H in a four hour time frame. I used to just stare at the screen for a few minutes tops waiting for a matchup, no it usually takes a little longer, anywhere from 2-30 minutes to find a H2H game. Now I go ahead and select my civ, and then either clean my living room, or bring my laptop in there while I'm waiting and post on these boards.... man, I need to get a life :D

with putting a little time into a friend list it is pretty easy to arrange a game when u want. the problem is i find games with au players get a lot of re-sync issues. all ps3 games seem to struggle with that connection in one way or another. look for other aussie players if u can.

Thanks fellas for your advice. Sadly I am still trying to get into a game but there never seems to be anyone playing when I look. I'm working on the friends list and a big thanks to those who have send me friends requests! I'll get there one day......
