View Full Version : Mafia must not be Gothic style failure...*hoping*
Let me tell your a story for those who had played Gothic series... 1st and 2nd parts kicked ass... They were so amazing, taking attention like you've actually been there..taking part in something bigger..living a great story written and created by producers...Although they aint visually SO good at all. They were just.. avarage.. But it was totally enough cuz they had THAT THING... One day, speculation about 3rd part apeared. Long w8ing... Everybodies looking forward to release, checking official forum everyday, living hope, that 3rd will be at least same good as 1st and 2nd... Well as it is known atm it wasnt... It wasnt even avarage... Visually cool, but so what...?

In conclussion... I'd like to say (being experienced in the past by Gothic example), that I am in real hope and gripping my heart inside for 2K success. Dont let us be disappointed as Gothic players were. Dont be a strong wind taking away our expectations... be a breeze pleasuring our faces... And rememebr graphics aint everything...

so true, Mafia was all about story and great characters you actually cared about, if they get that wrong I couldn't give a stuff what it looks like, it wont mean anything.
sequels aren't easy, expectations are higher, mine are stupidly high :D

after few mins of trying figure out what you meant (still dunno for sure), I say that I just made an EXAMPLE... U dont see my point, I did it to show that even best masterpiece may not have the same part also as masterpiece...just piece of crab. From what I've known, Fallout fans also complains about 3rd part... I feel sorry for them, cuz they've been w8ing so long and just got disapointed...Mostly... I hope we aint be with Mafia II ;)

Duke Nukem Forever (DNF) is the title of a first-person shooter currently being developed by 3D Realms. It follows Duke Nukem 3D as the next game in 3D Realms' Duke Nukem series and is being directed by one of the creators of the original Duke Nukem game, George Broussard. 3D Realms has not set a release date for the game, instead insisting the game will be released "when it's done"[2]
The plot of Duke Nukem Forever has been presented through newly released footage and screenshots. 3D Realms released trailers at the 1998 and 2001 E3 conventions and screenshots between those years. However, as DNF has gone through extensive changes since its last trailer, the plot is currently not known in its entirety.

As my PC is quite bad in perfomance I just couldn't play Gothic 3 much more than 10 minute before it hanged or crashed.
However, as much as I played it, it wasn't that bad when you got used to the controls and other new stuff. However, 1st one was epic.
