This is just my favorite thing in the world when you make a great come back in a game and things really start to turn around and all of a sudden you get what you initially think is a resync screen to later realize with huge dissapointment that you have been kicked by the host.........
3rd time this happened to be last nite after a game that was about to end in 10 turns.
I had joined the game a little late around 1800s with 4 cities and about 14 techs (vs 20+ for the two human players), the cities were garbage, and pretty close together. Only thing that saved the game was the fact that steam was researched and I had the English. Long story short I turned the game around picking off all the AI players and caught up with tech and was beating the other human and was going back and forth with the host. Most fun i've had in, well since i've owned the game.
Then all of a sudden.......KICK! AAHHHh!!!!
This in -game kick function totally sucks in my opinion. As far as in the lobby great it needs to be there, but after you've been in a game for so long you shouldn't be able to do this. Other than making room for friends, ther is no good reason for this. I wouldn't mind being kicked right away, but hours into the game is just total junk.
What do you guys think?

I wouldn't mind it being modified, but it would need to be done carefully.
You need to be able to balance out the two scenarios:
* The host kicks a player because they know they won't win.
* The host kicks a player because the player is being a pain (abusing the turn timer, etc).
I think that the community needs to put some thought into a better way to do this. It's OK to complain about something, but unless a better solution is proposed then you can't really expect anything to be done about it.
So thinking caps on people :)

As far as kicking because of abuse (timer) i think there the new patch addressed this with the speed up timer and the automatic kicking as a result of no activity. Pause bombing abuse is taken care of as well, and other communication abuses can be blocked.
I think a probationary period of lets say 5-10 turns could be implemented after the player joins to be able to kick them. You can typically tell if someone is abusive in this period of time and kick them if need be. After that i believe the option should lock up.
I think that a simple reasonable fix.
What do you mean by caps on people?
-- ohh an addition to my previous story I successfully rejoined the game 2x times (somehow I was able to do this through quick game - 1st time this has worked) only to be kicked upon entrance. The game I got kicked last time the dude messages me after i ask him why he kicked me and he says "you got pwned" .........sigh

It was "thinking caps on". A "thinking cap" is an imaginary hat you wear when you're deep in thought. It's supposed to help the thinking process :p.

they can only kick you out if its on player match........so if you play on rank it wont happen,......i didnt vote for no, but why would anyone even kick someone out,
for me that would be a challenge,
in my english class we do no work seriously, but yerterday my teacher handled the class, and we read this poem,
it said that one feels sucess at its sweetest when you go through fail first, so it says winining over and over would be boring, but if one loses and loses, and one day wins that victory feels super great......
then he made a joke about it on the "Raiders", winning the super owl, but then he got serious and said that if they one they won, that we would feel good about it, and it was truth for most......
