PS3 Saved 4 of 3 Little Sisters

I had saved three out of three Little Sisters in Neptune's Bounty as confirmed by top-corner pop-up and had three rescued icons on the menu screen.

It came as some amusement then to watch a Rosie thump on a tunnel and another Little Sister appear.

I rescued her and had the confirmation that I'd saved 4/3 and I now had four icons on the menu screen.

Even better when I went to leave Neptune's Bounty the game told me I hadn't dealt with all the Little Sisters on this level; so am I supposed to rescue five out of the three?

I believe this occurs in all versions of the game (finding extra Little Sisters in Neptune's Bounty). I know for a fact it happens in the PC version and has been discussed quite a bit on the forum.

My apologises, my initial search came back with nothing obvious a more specific one discovered the threads starting in 2007. So a well-known glitch still present in the PS3 version ah well so long as it doesn't foul up the game I can live with it.

I found a few threads myself and just read them. They seem to agree that the message isn't a problem as it won't affect gameplay or your ability to continue on to the next level.

It isn't a problem, you get the message that you haven't saved all the little sisters because the game goes: 4 does not equal 3 and assumes that you are below three when you are actually above. The bug comes from a glitch where one more little sister than what you have left to rescue is present on the level. If you happen to find this extra little sister (I've had it happen in Neptune and Frolic) then its just free adam.

My worry was that if at the end I'd rescued 31/30 Little Sisters (or however many there are) the game would penalise me for not having rescued them all.

I found this extra sister entirely by accident once as well. I don't actively seek them out, but they are a nice bonus and might be a good way to get a boost in Survivor mode.

I have never got an extra little sister in fact I have had the opposite happen where I could not save a sister in hasphetes core 2/3 and no matter how much I followed a BD and he would bang on the vent but no little sister would ever come out I saved and came back no change got to the end of the game and went back still the same anyone else had this happen anyways I'm going to go play bioshock and find an extra little sister :)
