Hi. I'm baffled about the Game Speed setting. The manual is completely vague and confusing as to what it does. First it says this:

Finally, you can set the game speed on this page. This setting
determines how many game-turns it takes to construct buildings and
units, how much cargo units can transport, how fast you accrue wealth,
and so forth.

This makes it sound as if it just makes things take longer, leaving the number of turns until the end of the game the same (300). But then, later on, it says:

At Standard game speed, a game of Colonization can last a maximum of 300 turns, ending in the year 1792.

This implies that higher (i.e. longer) settings make the game last more than 300 turns. So which is it? What the heck does that setting do, exactly?

Okay, full clarity explanation:

Marathon == 900 turns
Epic == 450 turns
Normal == 300 turns
Quick == 225 turns

Everything scales to that ratio, so a building will take 3 times longer to build in marathon than it does in normal. :)

Can you play the game past the alloted number of turns? You know for the sake of leisurely enjoyment rather than just blindly going for the win?

The thing is; I don't want to game to stop, I want it to keep going and going and going...

Oh Jesus 2K you really f....d up with this one. Why would you not want to let us play the game?

Just click "One more turn" and you can keep playing. :)
