Hi,

Just a quick question about settlers and what they do in settlements.
Say i have 3 Expert fishermen, and 3 water tiles, i obviously put them there, but the next turn when i notice the population going down i see they have moved to something inside the city, a building. I have clicked the 'turn off citizen automation' button many times, but after ive moved them again, the next turn they will have moved again.

There is no logic behind it either as when i micro manage them no resources are being lost.. but the next turn when the computer has moved them, several resources are losing stock.
Any ideas whats going on?

Is a unit you are at war with (or a privateer) sailing through those plots?

No, ive got auto trade with the settlements but it happens after every turn even when the ships arnt there. Not a privateer though that ****py caravan ship or whatever is it.

So the settlers are moving from the 'resources tiles' to doing something inside the city if that makes sense?
You have 8 tiles to the right where you can assign jobs, but each turn some settlers move to inside the city to buildings.

Nah I know what you mean, hence why I asked about the war. :)

When you place a colonist on those tiles, make sure there is a little icon of a lock next to their head. That means they're locked to that tile. Otherwise, they'll jump around.

Another thing, do you use Governor Automation at all to specify a focus for the colony? They might be moving colonists even though you lock them.

They are all locked, i press the turn off citezen automation just to make sure.
Is that where it says Emphazise on the govonor tab?
It says Neutral on every item in all settlements.
