Time needed for War of Independence

Hey!

I have a question regarding the War of Independence. How many turns do you need to win it?

I'm playing on standard settings and had some trouble getting the rebel sentiment up. I finally managed to declare independence with around 45-50 turns remaining. At this moment I've got 28 turns remaining and only two waves of the kings forces have been repelled (quite easily actually).

On a "normal" game, should it be possible to win the war in just under 50 turns? Or should I reserve something like 100 turns for it?

I usually declare with around 100 turns till the end. Some games I'll win in 30 turns, others about 60, depending on how fast the King gets over. :)

Thanks for the reply. I guess there is still hope left. If not, I'll just start again :-)

Oh by the way. Is it possible in any way to get the indians on my side? I can't get them to declare war on the king in the trade window. The option is just not there.

You need to have a defensive pact with them, and then you can request they join in the war. :)
