View Full Version : Why no damage?

i can't understand why tanks, arty, and ships take no damage during victorious battles. i understand the function is called heal and machines can't heal but then why not a heal/repair button? the reality is if a tank or ship wins a contested battle it will have damage and not be as effective in subsequent battles. in realistic games a ship taking damage would have to return to a port to be repaired. movement should also be limited for units in need of repair.

Good point. I agree that it is sort of ridiculous to see a battleship fleet have 2 ships sunken and barely survive an aerial bombardment and then presto it's all in one piece next round. I like the idea of ships having return to a port city after taking damage but it might seem like a real pain in the arse when you are on the opposite side of the world, but hey you shouldn't be so far away from a support town anyways.

people say because they are not living flesh, and living flesh units like cannons, archers, warriors,......

sometimes when am playing i say to myself,.."Hmmm i think i can take 2 of the tanks and attack again with the other guys" but then i realize they dont die, and it has to be done in one attack,

..by the way the only 2 ways to kill battleship fleets are:

1. have a bomber wing, and have a naval support unit of yours next to the battleships you want to destroy and attack........with bomber wing...

2. Nuke

....

imagine if we had to put a religion to our civilization, or like the u.s. where you have all religions...just like the most common....

not true. you can kill battleships with cruisers. ive seen it done many times....to me. one cruiser rolls up and kills my battleship fleet. sometimes its a cruiser fleet. submarines can also do it if you dont see them coming. they have the same attack power as a battleship.

I lost a cruiser to an English AI galley once. I actually LOL'd at the absurdity of it. Then I made a fleet...

I think it's a bad idea to have tank armies, battleship fleets, etc. take damage. Single units have a single heart, so the armies should, too, because the alternative would be to have all armies have the sum total of its individual units' hearts, and could you imagine having to heal a warrior army for 8 turns? Ouch.

that was luck

some guy made 2 battleships fleets and attack my battleship fleet and his battleships bth got destroyed, since battleships have more defence than attack

that would slow attacks down to a snails pace.
