This is the unofficial 2k forum to discuss BioWare's soon to be re-released martial-arts action-RPG. I've included the brief overview of the game for anyone still unsure of what exactly I'm smoking. ;) Have any questions/comments regarding story, gameplay, tech problems, etc.? Post them here! P.S.: the official site, http://jade.bioware.com/specialedition/ would probably be the best option for you true game nerds out there. :p

Step into the role of an aspiring martial-arts master and follow the path of the open palm or the closed fist. I never played the Xbox version of this game, and look forward to this release greatly :)

Infact, I already paid for it so I'm just waiting for it to get into my mailbox :cool:

the be honest: i like every single game BioWare made...BUT i don't like Jade Empire :P it's because of the setting... i'm not very fond of the asian culture in computer games -.-

Setting wasn't the problem in my mind. The game was inspiring in the beginning, then, like most games, they rushed. They should have delayed the game, given it a bit more thought. All these games need to build up hype, but make sure they live up to the hype.

Prey- Didn't live up to hype
Jade Empire- Thought they were ready
Call of Cthulu (pardon speeling)- Under hyped.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But don't overhype and let people down like Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
2 more days until awesomeness..... delay. three more months? Wait... Another delay?!?!?!?! Oh well, I give up, I'm going to play Halo.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The dream release of most games reflects Gears of War. News from the beginning, constantly updated, and released a very quality product on time. And don't focus on Multiplayer and Single Player. Make an excellent one-or-the-other, then make a passable one. GoW made a nice MP, with a nice SP. More games need releases like this.

Agreed. I rented it, couldn't get into the Asian theme nor the combat, then returned it. *crosses fingers for their next game Mass Effect and hopes it turns out great :) *

Jade Empire was painfully predictable. The characters were horrible, your companions I mean. Each and everyone a dumbass, except of course for the two angels who if you played your cards right, could become both your girlfriends at the same time :eek: In my subconscious that was probably the only reason why I've played the game to the finish, hehe. Sneaky Bioware bastards, they kept me in front of the computer with promises of a menage a trois and sex. And what a surprise, it worked. Though it was not worth it.

Otherwise, the fighting sucked, the RPG system was waaay too simplistic, the graphics outdated, except again for the hot ladies who were shacking their delicious curves in front of you the whole time. These guys sure knew where to invest more polygons, didn't they ?

As a port I didn't like it either. You can tell combat was meant for the Xbox. That said it could have used better/more varied combos for the fighting.

The story I thought was pretty good, apart from the pronunciation being painfully Western (even Dynasty Warriors had better pronunciation). Yeah the first two thirds were predictable then a twist then more or less predictable, but it was still entertaining.

But the individual dialog options were as detailed as what I've come to expect from Bioware. Worth full price? Eh. Worth $20 or $20? Yeah.
