Hey, for those of you who don't know (probably a lot), I recently got a couple of good upgrades for my computer and I was wondering how good Crysis is. It seems awesome, and I need a tie-me-over (at least :P) for the next few months. I was just curious about who has it and what they think of it.

I have it, and while it is a decent amount of entertainment... I found myself playing Orange Box more and I paid the same price. Team Fortress is my multiplayer fix. HL2 for single player, and Portal anytime I want to re-experience the greatest 4 hours in recent videogame history.
There are better games to get with your money. What types of games ar you interested in?

Does this mean you got the card and PSU working?! :D
How much improvement did you see in BioShock??
I haven't played Crysis, but I'll warn you that it is the most punishing game out there right now as far as computers go. You will likely see poor performance, even with your new card. Just FYI.

Its a good game...but too short and could punish your system a bit depending on components. Try http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest and see what it says (it will be inaccurate on vista, my 512mb 9600GT apparently has 1.9gb video ram, which screws up the results :()
My old system could run it on a 7600GT, but i found it looks good on almost any settings! It is good looking, which i suppose makes up for how short it is :(

Thanks everyone, it just looked like a cool game with awesome graphics. I might just wait for Far Cry 2, which hopefully will run on my computer...Hopefully. And japester...No, I haven't upgraded it yet, but I'm actually in the process of doing that. My new PSU is installed and working fine, but before I can install the new card I have to download the latest AGP drivers somehow for my motherboard and disable my integrated graphics card.

I've got an ok computer- only cost £1400 and i can run it no problem on very high! But it is a very good game and will probably be better than farcry 2. It has something for almost everyone with a myriad of different tactics and great online play so i would get it. However the orange box is better thanks to TF2. But buy crysis it is worth it.

Yea I'm personally not much of a fan of Crysis but I do enjoy poking around in the level editor that came with the limited edition. It's the only game to make my computer flinch even a little, and even my friends with quad-core SLi rigs have a hard time with frame rates in heavy firefights. I'm looking forward to FarCry 2.

I remember reading a rumor in the rumor section of a magazine that Crysis will be coming for the PS3 and that it might come to the Xbox 360 but on four discs.

that's stupid, it has only 1 disc on PC, why would it be on 4 for 360? a DVD 9 is a DVD 9, no matter what hardware is used to read it.

Because the cab files on the dvd are compressed and the PC install uncompresses them into a much larger playable game directory. Look at the Crysis install folder, its a helluva lot larger than 4 GB.

and in the next update for the 360, game installs are going to be allowed.
Also, Oblivion on 360 used the hard drive cache if a hard drive was available, but just used compressed textures if there wasn't one available.
Load times suffered, but hey, it was on 1 disc.

Well, I tried the demo, and it's fun, but my computer isn't quite powerful enough. The FPS is good (not sure what, probably around 50), but the graphics are only ok. My only real petpeave (sp?) is that things keep popping into view instead of already being there.
I was just looking for a game for my computer. Unfortunately, even with my new card, my processor is still lacking which will hold me back a lot. I'd get a new one, but I'm not sure if that's even possible and I just spent almost 200 bucks on my upgrades.
