Can't play online (ps3)

I've got an 80 gig with a wired connection, and when i get online i cant join games im invited to and my friends cant join the games i start. also, when online, it has my name set as avaholic46@ps3_remote for some reason....any ideas?

Have you open up the right ports to your router? Does your friend has the right ports open?

i dont know anything about opening ports or any of that other stuff.... all i know is i can play the old ps2 socoms online, warhawk and GTA but civrev isnt working

For the PS3, the important thing is to ensure the PS3 sees a Type 2 NAT when you run the connection test. This is equivalent to an OPEN NAT (as opposed to MODERATE or STRICT) on the 360.

im only able to join one of my friends, all the others i get connection issues (connection could not be established) or some **** like that for some strange reason and i set the gamespy servers for port forwarding to see if that helped (not like i should have to for a ps3 game).

And i also have the problem with my name showing as diddyo007@ps3_remote. No word i don't think on why that happens...

This problem just showed up for me last night... Any other ps3 users out there have their name get changed? Having my name show up as azzriel@ps3_remote sucks.
