Well this is my first thread, and to be honest, the only reason i signed up for this forum is to be able to express this thought. Bioshock was released for 360 so i was initially bumed out cause i have a ps3, which i love. so now bioshock is coming to gamers like me, who weren't able to experience it the first time around. i am looking forward to this game probably more than any game i've ever wanted to my recallection. Fall 2008 can't get here quick enough to me.

I know that the 360 version was an enormous success, but what concerns me the most about the quality of the ps3 version is that it is not being made by the head 2k games department, but rather by 2K Marin. I'm sure they have every right and ability to create a perfect, or rather maybe a superior version with the DLC coming, but will they? i can't tell you how many times a port that has come later has been worse. For example, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition was on 360 first, and just a few months ago it came to ps3. the ps3 version was reviewed as the worst of the two, having a bad framerate and worse graphics.

Bioshock is pretty much the most anticipated game for me this year, so if the ps3 version were to be a cruddy version, it wouldn't only dissapoint me, but dissapoint everyone who gets the shaft whenever xbox 360 gets an amazing game and the ps3 gets its leftovers.

2K Marin, is there anything that you can tell me that will put my fears to rest?

thanks in advance

it will be just as same as the original but there will be anti-alsing I think if thats how you spell it, but it will be just as the same so don't worry and the 2K Marin team is well knowledgeable on the PS3 and so are the other working on this project, I hope this puts your weary head to rest.

PS3 version is improved, but more exclusive DLC will be coming for BioShock PS3 shortly after release. It is going to feature a new opening video, faster loading times (with required install), and the DLC. It is expected to perform equally or better than the 360 version.

There are several threads that can give you more details.

Well 2K said they will not change the story in any way for the PS3 version, so everything should be intact there. But the PS3 version will have diffrences but none that will make it less superior to the 360 version...Anywho if you haven't heard what the additons for the PS3 version will be then here they are......

-Challenge Rooms (DLC)
-New Opening Video
-New difficulty mode called "Survivor Mode"
-Will have better graphics (from what I've seen), less pop-ups, and faster loading times
-Will feature the previous DLC for the 360 already on the disc (Sonic Boom plasmid + other gene tonics)
-Trophies
-Possible Home Support

So if anything it'll proabley be superior compared to the 360 version (IMO of course) and us PS3 fans should have nothing to worry about with the new version!......(i hope....) ^_^....//

Dont forget 2K Australia and Boston are helping and we did create the original ;)

And some of the 2K Marin guys worked on BioShock 360/PC...

as Ben already stated, BioShock PS3 is being worked on by a number of teams, including new talent and those who worked on BioShock in its first incarnation. 2K Boston, Australia, and Marin are all collaborating to make this project amazing -- and i'm sure you'll need to wait and see for yourself to confirm what i say, but i can't be more proud of these guys, and honored to be able to work with them.

if you want to learn more about the teams, and what's going on with BioShock PS3, check out www.cultofrapture.com. i'll be putting up more updates in the coming weeks including more Inside the Studio chapters that will give you some insight into the studios!

*Sheds a tear*

A beautiful post on these forums. I must say, I think just about everyone who played BioShock was honored to have the chance.

Thanks 2K.

There's going to be ani-aliasing. So the graphics are going to be way better.

Yeah I have heard that, but I also remember hearing that if the team has enough time, there will be some graphical improvements. Anti-aliasing is one of the main ones.

2K Elizabeth: Is there any further news to be announced about Bioshock PS3 or has everything pretty much been communicated? Please say there's more, I know I'm greedy :)

Sounds to me like they are putting a lot of effort into this release. They are adding new content and not rushing the product out so I think we will be pretty pleased with the results. And as someone who has played the 360 release many many times, you are going to love this game.
