Curious I am as to whether there will be tilt funtionality. For example, when you are about to kill a little sister you must tilt the controller to choke her or break her neck. Cool that would be. Or when engaged in a scuffle with a Big Daddy, you must tilt your way out of a close encounter like in the BioShock Promo Movie.

Most likely not, motion control while good is not perfect and if you are choosing between harvesting or saving a little sister I don't want to have the controller misread my intentions. I'll stick to button presses. In fact I'm not sure how many areas of the game would work for the sixaxis. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the turning of the valve in Hephaestus.

Actually, I thought Sony made some sort of SIXAXIS functionality a mandatory feature. All games are supposed to feature it somehow aren't they???

Last I heard they were shying away from that. It seems they want to distance themselves from the Wii's constant wagle wandery due to the increasing tide of anti casual games and their association with motion control. I think they're letting developers do it or not depending on the developers wishes.

Thank God. I hate SIXAXIS. It was never enjoyable or very accurate. It was simply oversensitive and became like a chore.

Just rumble is all we need

Agreed. I think it will have that, seeing as 2K put it in the original version. So I am sure they think that is rather important.
But I guess I won't be expecting SIXAXIS, nor wanting it.

Yeah I agree. I just picked up Resistance and that little feature bugs the crap out of me.

I wouldn't actually consider the sixaxis a terrible feature. It really all comes down to how the game developers implement the feature. If they just throw it in there without a second thought it might be a bad idea and would seem tacky, however if they put enough thought into it and tweaking it could become a good feature.

Some developers have chosen good ideas, and they come out reasonably good, but SIXAXIS just doesn't feel good and is so inaccurate. I saw a guy trying to use SIXAXIS to demo Mirror's Edge, and he had a real hard time keeping it where he wanted, and when he tilted, it would never be where he wanted.

In what areas would you implement it if you were given the chance? I just can't think of too many places where it would work in the 360 version and I really don't want 2k to tack on a bunch of crap just for the sake of using the sixaxis.

Yeah, maybe in BioShock 2, they could think of something from the get-go. But BioShock PS3 is a port and I sure don't want them to try and throw in SIXAXIS stuff that had no place in the original. I wouldn't be upset if it was in, but the feature wouldn't add any joy for sure.

Well what if you had the option to turn the feature off or on like in most products these days? If you would like to use the feature for whatever purpose it has in the product you may, but if you prefer not, then you won't have to.

I am just hoping they don't go for the generic 'Balance Beam' idea or the 'Shake your enemy off' idea. Those have been used multiple times before and it would be obvious if they added that for SIXAXIS.
Anyways, I think it should always have been a feature that could be turned off, and luckily most games nowadays let you turn it off. I certainly think if they do throw in something for SIXAXIS, that they will make it optional to use SIXAXIS versus traditional and more accurate controls.

That would be awsome, I love sixaxis controls!!!

The game is a port, so I wouldn't expect any sixaxis controls. The vibration will still work I reckon though. Unless 2K include it as an extra... :D

The sixaxis isn't THAT bad! Personally if it's done well in Bioshock I wouldn't mind seeing it. Also how hard is it to add sixaxis elements?^^^...//

I think the whole purpose of the screen darkening when you harvest was to hide violence, so if they added interactive violence towards young girls, the game would surely not be allowed on shelves. :o
But hey, nice try at an idea. The Big Daddy one is more likely if they go for some SIXAXIS.;)

its good as an OPTION like if i want to swing my controll to do a wrench attack or flick it for the release of a plasmid or an injection but please make it toggleable on and off

The problem to me with the sixaxis controls is that it takes me right out of the game. The Wii makes me use these motion controls from the beginning for their games but sony seems to put it in there as an after thought. I'm cool without tacked on sixaxis support.

I was playing Unchartered last night trying to get all the trophies and there was a bit where these Zombies jumped out and latched onto me. I had to shake the controller really really vigorously to shake them off.
It got to the point where they would jump out, making me jump and i'd be shaking the controller going "Arggggggggghhhhhhhh"
I haven't played BioShock, though nearly bought a 360 especially for it so I don't know if there is anywhere in the game this could be used. Being added from the beginning in Unchartered it felt natural and not like an after thought.

See, what smods said is something I tink could be cool in BioShock. I really like how it was implemented in Ratchet and Clank, but that would probably require some new content - which is where the challenge rooms could come into play.
I think being able to shake off a splicer (or shake off a grenade or another type of attack) may be cool, but it'd then be hard to keep it optional without giving an unfair advantage to SIXAXIS use...
On the whole, since BioShock PS3 seems more like a straight port (save the challenge rooms) I kinda doubt we'll see SIXAXIS but the team could surprise us :)
