Hello all
So though it about time I signed up for my most anticipated game of 2007. I'm really looking forward to it and glad to see there's a release day penciled.
One thing tho I'm gonna have to stop watching all the videos/trailers you guys keep finding and posting. One I get too excited by the prospect of the game and two I'm worried I might ruin the suspense and surprise of playing the game for real.
Do you lot think viewing trailers will spoil the fun?

If there are story spoilers - Yes.
Otherwise, No.

For a while I was refusing to look at the screenshots, for the same reason. But then I just thought oh what the hell.

IG/2k know what they are doing... they wouldn't spoil the game with media i'm sure.

It depends on what you consider a spoiler, really. I don't think any of the videos I've seen have been particularly spoilerific in terms of the plot, but they do convey perfectly the mood of the game.

IF there was a spoiler video, then it was the E3 walkthrough. For me, spoilers contain story elements or unique scenes/places/moments.

I suppose the recent medical pavilion video could be considered spoilerish, at least if digested with the accompanying interview. You'll have to stop reading and viewing the available material if you really want to safeguard yourself. Good luck. :D

I'm in the same boat. I'm trying to prevent myself from seeing the videos or even reading the interviews. Gone are the times where you just got a few screenshots and/or had to read a few small previews. I would just rather see everything in game as it is happening. Seems to impact me a bit more.

I played SS2 for the first time last year. Got a legit copy which cost me the same as the original would have, lol.
Thing was I didn't really know much about the game apart from it was like Deus Ex and was set on a spaceship. I think if I had known much more than that it could have spoilt it.
But I agree with Rapture_Tourist the walkthrough was the main spoiler so far and they are the ones to avoid.

Yeah. 2k and Irrational have done a pretty good job at keeping things a mystery and I think that is how they have planned it and also how people like it.
The mystery is what intrigues my curiosity and that curiosity will last until I beat the game.

No, when you look trailers, you begin waiting the game more

I don't know what the marketing department is planning on doing in the future, but all the recent video and screenshot content has been from the first "deck" of the game. Out of considerably more than that, each one with tons of gameplay and unique experiences. Even those who've watched all the previews have got a *lot* of surprises coming up :)

Edit: Whoops, I misspoke slightly. One of the trailers had a snippet of deck two in it. Still, it's all very early-game material, so far.

Yeah that's good news. I was thinking that was prob the case but good to here it from the "horses mouth" so to speak.
Oh can't wait for this game. Get back to work Irrational_Alexx and give the rest of the team a nudge too :D
