do other people play multiplayer?

i am having a tough time getting multiplayer games going.
most of the time what i do is go into quick match, sometimes player, sometimes Ranked.
i get to the setup, and then i sit there waiting- after about 10 minutes of staring at the screen i cant take it and go into a single player game.

any advice for me on getting online matches going would be most appreciated.

we're all having the same issue.. the best way to do multiplayer is to add as many friends as possible (from here or sometimes, rarely, from the game). usually that's how i get into games.. or i just form a game and invite people myself.

i cant find games eithier. and when i do they quit after i get 3-4 techs ahead. what happened to gamesmanship?

well, i used the gamertags list at the top of this Forum yesterday(invited about 50 people!), and now i have a bunch of Civ Rev friends to play online with!

yeah you have me to ;) but unfortunately when i try joining you i get a popup on civ rev saying connection could not be established or something, same when i try joining others. Its a let down atm.

well, one thing i did notice, is that i sometimes had some pending invites after i stepped away for a few minutes, maybe your invites timed out because i didnt respond in time.
either way, im gonna be playing the game in an hour or 2 for most of the day, so if i see you on diddy07, i will send you an invite.

shoukdnt this be resulved by 2k or firaxis ? because why relese a game that is fauled and do nothing to sovle , well maby i shouldnt say nothing elizbeth and shig are working there asses off

i wonder if some of the problems are with Gamespy- i have played a couple other games with them as the online provider, and well they arent the best..

yeah i hate gamespy, i have a few games on my pc which use there servers and in all of them i get some sort of server problem and login problems.

I've had the same problem waiting for opponents in the full version, Ironically the demo works better for player matches. My friends and I are trying to look for games on the hour so there will be multiple player available at &, 8 , 9 etc.
