Well, gametrailers listed their 'best of e3' trailer for the category of First Person Shooters. I'm glad that Bioshock was on there (I mean come on, how could it not) as well as Barker's new game Jericho.
However, as you will see Call Of Duty 4 won it out, to which I don't agree considering Bioshock looks to offer something completely new (well for those who didn't play shock 2). COD 4 looks great, and I was a fan of 2 and 3, yet it just looks modernized with no telling improvements.
From the looks of it though COD 4 was a hit at e3, what do you guys think about this game and the series in particular?

Why is CoD4 winning lots of awards?
I mean, I love the series, but come on! It doesn't look too much different from the others.
I guess the industry likes Sequel-itis.

Sequel-itis you say? Disney is going to be recovering from that sickness soon. It was said that they aren't going to be making any more straight-to-DVD sequels. Thank god.
*Sorry, a little off-topic... carry on* (my wayward son, there'll be peace when you are gone, lay your weary head to rest, don't you cry no more...)

What I especially don't like about CoD 4, is the story of the game is totally fictional, correct? The battles and events depicted in the game did not occur (I think, may be totally wrong on this). The only "good" aspect I ever saw in WW2 shooters, was how they basically were able to recreate the towns, battles, and stories, of the war. CoD4 doesn't seem like it will do this. Instead it has fancy new guns, vehicles, and explosions.

Their best determining values were set on value and originality? So how the hell did COD4 win  . That's definitely a first. I got nothing against COD, but seriously, not only should have Bioshock beat it out, but also a few others on that list.

Sorry, not determining values, determining factors.

The series is quite nice though. COD 1 was no doubt the best, followed by 2. COD 3, unfortunately, was the worst. I really missed Infinity Ward on the 3rd title and you could easily tell it was different. Still, had some good times with 3. But if you guys haven't, do yourself a favor and check out 1. Btw, looking forward to COD4. Infinity Ward is back and I'm glad the setting has escaped the WW era hold.

I think something about CoD4 can only be felt from playing/seeing it in person, there's no other explanation to why the press is getting boners over it, more so than games like Mass Effect, and Killzone 2...

I don't understand why everyone things COD4 is so great, it looks almost exactly the same as the others besides the fact that it's in a modern setting now.

Even so, that's not the case for me. I mean one of their factors was originality and another was value. How does CoD4 exceed beyond Bioshock at any of these criteria? Who knows about what categories they placed into value, but I don't see how the setting, characters, choices, etc of CoD4 can be more original than that of Bioshock. I mean, you gotta agree with that - it's common sense.

I think COD 4 is way too hyped. It seems even more so than Halo 3. Bioshock looks better than COD 4.
