Question about the histograph

Does anyone know what do those stars and swords represent?

Swords i think great battle on when you have captured a city. Stars i don't remember now, maybe you found new cities, but not sure at the moment

Since all of the symbols are placed at the beginning of the histograph, I doubt they actually represent great battles ... Could we get any official information?

Either way, its a very weak diagram

They seem to only represent the ancient/stone age events, I think the swords may mark pre army battles (ones you won with only a single warrior unit) and the stars are either new settlements in that early age or artifacts.. I am not sure yet.:confused:
