1. If you build colossus will it double your trade forever or only what you have so far. For example if I have trade 3, and it becomes 6, and then I increase by 1, will it become 7 or 8?

2. For obsolete wonders, i noticed that if i research Invention tech myself it wont obsolete my own Colossus, will other players obsolete it if they weren't the first ones to research it?

3. When you set a city to auto-manage for a particular resource, lets say science, will it automatically optimize the resources, for example if i need 30 science for a tech and i get 48 a turn, will the 18 surplus go towards the next tech and so on.

4. if you nuke a city with a wonder in it, is it destroyed and no one else can build it still?

5. When you max a city to 31 pop, does all food resource collected after that just go to waste?

6. The megacity strategy seems really overpowered, I can get a nuke at 0BC and tanks shortly thereafter, do you guys think that this was an oversight in the games strategic design by firaxis? It would suck if every other possible strategy i could try would pale in comparison to the roman settler rushing, so far i haven't found anything nearly as strong.

7. Does the full game have custom matches, can I invite a friend to play with me and then we can go play 2v2 against 2 other random people?

8. Great Library, does this give you all the techs that everyone else has up until that point, or only some of them? What about techs they will learn in the future?

Thanks!!

1. 8, it is forever (until he it works)

2. Yes, or i think it will be too easy

3. No, you take gold equal to the surplus

4. You can't rebuild a wonder, so i think no

5. Yes, so don't work on food

6. I think it's not so good.. And win at the year 0 or having tanks is impossible, lol, 40 turns, you need at least 4 for the first settler and you can't work while you research

7. Yes

8. Until it works, you take a technology that 2 enemies have. If only 1 has that tech you have to wait

I can answer a few of those:

1) Its a percent modifier so it always takes your beakers and doubles it for that city. Doubles trade 'forever' (may become obsolete).

4) From what I've read, the wonder is gone forever. Cant rebuild.

6) There will probably be an adjustment of sorts in the future,

EDIT: Well I was beaten to the post . . . oh well ;)

thanks for the reply guys

that's cool about the colossus, so i guess theres no advantage necessarily in waiting to build it later on

i was afraid it may be like the hanging gardens, i usually wait until my pop is 20 so that it jumps to 30, cause if i built it at the beginning it would be a waste cause my pop would go from like 2 to 3... does that make sense

oh also i didn't say win at year 0, i said nuke at year 0

another Q: is there any advantage of having a spy ring vs a single spy, do you get more gold, can you fail at stealing a great person?

Yes i know you didn't win it was a mystake. Whatever in 40 turns it is impossible.. More than 1 tech for turn.. impossible

Whatever a ring of spies is better to kill a spy. It is because you have more attack when you fight vs a spy, but when the defender has a ring of spies it could be impossible to kill them
