I've played through the game a lot but I still dont understand this part fully.

Are the spies invisible at some point? Sometimes I get the message that their spies have infiltrated my city and according to me I havent seen any spies 2 tiles away from my city and no road.

Together with this is the sub question. The sub's defense is total crap. The sub's movement is total crap. Are they invisible? It seems the AI always finds me with his boats and then attacks me with his galley or cruiser and I die.

Yes, but sometimes maybe you haven't seem them, it happened to me, whatever you can see all spies, or i think that when they are in forests they are invisible, i don't know that, but you could try in multi with a friend.
Whatever it's the same for me sometimes when i attack with mega units and i die

I'll try and get some guy to try out with me. None of my friends want to spend money on a console, I'm originally a PC guy :)

I didint think i needed a new thread for this question.
When you enter the square where a friendly village is, for the past i would say 6 villages on two seperate games, i have got spys.
Although that seems good, it is really, really the worse 'bonus' you can get, especially when i have already got a spy from a different village.
Is it random? Because before this Spy frenzy the current research i was doing was completed when i entered a friendly village.

I've also gotten a lot of spies recently. Maybe it has to do with difficulty? I don't know at least.

I think it might be related to the difficulty too. It is a crap bonus though, as no-one has any great people to steal and very little gold.

I often sell them, 25 gold pieces which is what you get normally from the villages. Use them to scout the map first, then sell them.

Yes, it's a good strategy, i do that a lot of times. You can do the same thing with the caravan because he has 3 moves. Today for example i took about 2-3 friendly villages using the caravan then i always sell it because if i'm going to declare a war to an enemy, if i sell it i take 30 golds, and if i go to a city i take 50, but my enemy would take 20, so he could rush his troops, AIs always do that, how i hate that.. It's better so to take -20 moneys but you could take his city with no problems

I usually try to find a civ that is farther away and trade with him. I guess it depends on your strategy. I often just try to annihilate one civ so my requirement is just that I dont give him some extra cash for rushing.
