Money where your mouth is? PLAY FOR MONEY?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if you had ever heard of a place where you can play BioShock (or other games for that matter) for money in a kind of online poker format. I.e. - everyone puts $5 and the winner gets the money?

I've never seen anything but thought it would be a cool idea. Am I the only person that would love such a thing? What do you think, is it something you would play if they made it?

No, never heard of such a thing for Bioshock and no, I wouldn't be interested if there were.
I guess I just don't understand the premise. What would determine who would win? It's not like the game is multi-player...

Yeah, sorry was just interested in the idea a whole after considering it with Halflife, as when I was at university we used to play and stick money in a pot and the winner took the money. I was wondering what people who play other games thought, so thought I would ask on a few forums and didn't realise Bioshock was a single player. I was wondering if it was something people would be interested in multiplayer games, and if so why it have never been attempted.

What do you think, something people would play or am I just a gambling addict?

Gambling, in all its many forms, has been around (and will be around) for a long, long time. And people bet on a lot crazier things than videogames. ;)

Can't help you, though. I'm sure such sites exist, but I don't know of any.

BioShock would be tougher to score than, say, a multiplayer shooter, but it could be done. You could compare:
*times in a speedrun
*number of times Vita Chambers used on hardest difficulty
*number of shots fired/plasmids used to get through a level
I'm sure people could come up with a lot more.

I was not trying to be rude in my post. I'm just not sure how you would decide on a winner. I'm sure there is a way though.
If such a thing existed I'm sure people would enjoy it. I wouldn't, but some people would.
