cant build world bank

ok, first, yes i know its cheap....

basically, i have been playing a game on king difficulty as the mongols. using multiple saves, i had managed to progress to 1966 in the position where i could win in any one of the 4 different ways. so i made a save, and finished the domination victory, and got the achievement. then i reloaded and worked my way till i could build the united nations and then got the cultural victory, and subsequent achievement.

next, i decided to get the world bank. i made every city produce gold, and before i knew it, up popped the woman telling me i could build it. i went into my capital, opened up "wonders" and nothing. the option to build it isn't there.

i dont mind playing again to get the achievement, but i was kinda hoping i could move up to diety after i had done these. from playing it a bit, it looked like i could still get the tech win, as ship parts were popping up on the buildings list. i just dont understand why she wont let me build the bank

any ideas?

Funnily enough, your not the first one to have this problem. I remember seeing the exact same problem from another member a few days ago, they were playing a different civ, but couldn't build it either. Do you have the XBOX360 version by chance? That's the version he had difficulty on... not sure if he could get around it though.

Try to build it in a city that has a bank or something though, it may be that you have to have something in the city to build it, try seeing if it's in the wonders area for another city, your capital for example.

i have tried to make sure that every city has a bank (when i changed all citys to producing gold, i ensured that they had a bank too). so now, every city has a bank, and it doesnt show up on any of their wonders list

im wondering if its tech related maybe. i dont know

Try switching to research and start learning each of the techs, and after you complete each see if that makes a difference (you can build the ship parts in the mean time, you don't need to launch it). If you find that learning a tech lets you build it, post it here, since it may be a prerequisit. I've personally not had this bug so I'm not too sure, but I also have the PS3 version so that may be why I've not seen it happen...

My best guess is that there is a requirement aside from the certain amount of gold, but not sure.

Hi,

I've registered just to say I've encountered the same bug, also on the 360.

I am playing on Deity and I've researched everything, built banks in all my cities (nearly 20) and I get a couple of thousand gold per turn, but I just cannot select the World Bank wonder.

I even tried an older safe file, where I'm still below the gold requirement, and the woman keeps counting until I have it, then states I can build the wonder to win an economic victory - except I can't, I simply don't have the option to.

Weird...
