BtS: Compatibility Question for those who can answer?

My question about the expansion pack is this: I know that the online download version available from Direct2Drive is compatible with download and hardcopy versions of the game and Warlords, but is the hard copy version of BtS compatible with the online download versions of Civ IV and Warlords?
