I was watching a few videos on Youtube about how some of the ideas for Bioshock came from. One of the guys talking, said that Ken was looking at this website called Project Facade. *Link* (http://www.projectfacade.com/)
That's where he got most of the ideas for the splicer faces.
If you're interested, here's a few links to some videos.

did they mention atlas shrugged!!! there are wayyy too many connections between that book and the game, and ken can go about saying theres just a a little connection, but i see the connection as being more than just a little.

That is very interesting, highly disturbing, but interesting. The one that has the "mask like skin over his eyes does look much like the concept art. In the podcast Ken mentioned (or was asked about) the fact originally Bioshock was to take place in a World War I-II bunker, so the faces could have been sparked by the War idea then moved environment to what is is now.
As for those movies they are sweet, the podcast was one thing but you didn't get as much detail cause they didn't want to leak anything before the game was released.

Surprisingly, they didn't say anything about Atlas Shrugged.

A great bonus feature would be a session in which you see how the creators drew characters, maybe a design gallery

I was looking for something like that, but I didn't find it on Youtube. That'd be neat too.

Have a look on 1Up.com's site on their coverage of BioShock. They did a number of video features during development that gave glimpses of people working on levels and characters, as well as some examples of stuff that didn't make it in the game. I'd link you directly but I'm not at home so I don't have the time to search.

Are you serious?
Sooooooooooooooooooooooo much is taken from Atlas Shrugged. Even the names. Hah. I haven't seen any of the writers/producers say anything about Ayn Rand anywhere. I've seen newswriters talk about how it takes from Jules Verne and Ayn Rand but never someone from the game's creators. If someone could find me that, I would be very happy.

I would be very happy too. Lol. Bioshock is like the exact same as Atlas Shrugged, but with different names. IMO at least.

And BioShock's more fun and the characters aren't as paper-thin. >[ Eye-Em-Oh. >.>;;
