I bought Bioshock earlier in the week, and it plays great on my rig at full settings. Everytime I go to play the game though, it asks for the CD key. Now it says it's been "activated on too many PCs", and won't run. Has anyone else had a similiar issue, and how do I stop it from happening again?
Now, you can do no shiit but complain to securom to give you a chance to reactivate your version for a last time, like a certain member on this forum did;), after you have it activated, you can use some kind of tool that backs up your registry info of securom. Don't know where I found one, google it, or you can go to your securom registry and export the registration details and keep them somewhere safe. If you plan to install it again on a different OS, use the bioshock revoketool which will send your activation details online for future activation.
PROBLEM THEORY
I do not know what kind of details online activation servers hold when you activate bioshock, but (THEORY ONLY), what if you have something installed that hides yout IP and makes it so that your computer appears every minute somewhere on a different location on this planet. You may activate bioshok from say Frankfurt, Germany, but the next time you start bioshock again, your IP may show up somewhere like in Puerto Rico and thus using up your serial and activating it from that and a different location every time you start bioshock. It gets activated five times only with the same serial.
I do not know if activation works this way, but it's the best 03:14am answer.:p

Thats so bad they should tell you somewhere on the box that you can only activate it a certain amount of times and how many times, this is such a waste of money, makes me angry cause what if your computer crashes and you have to get windows re-installed........then the game is useless?? or what if you wanna play it on another computer??? its so stupid
