Installation Issue

I purchased Bioshock the other day, and as I was trying to install it tonight, I've encounter a major issue: The installer successfully installs the game, however, when it attempts to download the patch it either:

A) Stops running completely. I don't get an error message, which I have to close the installer via the task manager.

or

B) I get an error message saying the installation failed since the patch could not be downloaded and then tells me to try installing again later.

I know it's not my internet, since I can come here. Is this be caused by Vista? And is there a way to fix it?

Any firewalls? Also have you tried installing the game in Safe Mode with Networking?

I'm running Norton Internet Security. That's it.
I'll try the other option.
