I mean, the one we can see on the first official wallpaper. Is it a toy gun !!? :p

I really wonder why it is like that... For Mafia 1, it seems that developers had done a wonderful job in looking at how cars and weapons (as well as buildings, clothes...) were really like and in reproducing them as faithfully as they could. But this gun... Yuk! :eek:

I can say that at least the members of the French speaking community do think the same as me. This is a real cry from http://barmafia.free.fr/.

Don't forget that this game still isn't completed, many things can change during next few months...;)
And this is the reason why I say I would like the size of the gun to change. Because I still hope it can be done ;)

it seems your wrong about that I heard its coming May 7th 2008, as documented in the PC Power Play Mag, I could be wrong tho but I dont see why it would be released 2009 thats way to far away. And from the looks of the game so far it looks nearly compleated. And not to mention all the new screenshots that have been uploaded these past few weeks.

And not to mention all the new screenshots that have been uploaded these past few weeks.Those screenshots say nothing about A.I., or bugs or glitches or general gameplay. You could see a screenshot from the most amazing looking game, and it could play like crap.
Talking about guns there's a MP40 & MG42 in Mafia II.
I really love Krauts weapon.Are those confirmed for use? Or are you going by a scripted cut scene (by the looks of it) where he's holding a weapon?

Anywho... I think the colt looked a *bit* small... maybe he is just big? =P

I don't know.
I just saw the screenshots when Vito holding the MG42.
There's a MP40 & M3 "Grease Gun" on the table.

I wish those weapons are available in Mafia II.

It certainly would be cool to set up an MG42 and just go nuts against the traffic, seeing them all peppered with bullets holes and stuff, but at the same time I imagine it would be somewhat unbalanced, unless the police have better weapons.

well, in Mafia one Police were given the same guns we had , if I remember correctly. Of course not the average street patroller, but when you got Wanted level as high that they started to block the street, they were already firing shotguns at you.

Well as long as it would be realistic then it is ok :)

I guess the police will have revolvers not sure how many that used pistols as sidearms in the force in that timeperiod, and some pump-action shotguns.

And I agree on the WW II weapons, I think we will indeed get them, and I like someone else mentioned like german weaponry, they make good weapons.
