Which Game Are You Currently Playing?
Right now I'm playing The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker, in my opinion one of the best games ever made...
...although the issues with regards what items work where, when and why are illogical and frustrating, and the incidental Windfall Island adventure-style puzzles are so poorly conceived and badly implemented it's almost beyond belief that Nintendo could make such terrible judgments...
...but apart from all that, Wind Waker absolutely rocks the casbah http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

Whenever I get ten minutes to spare I usually load up Gumboy, from Steam.
The same goes for Prey I guess, which I grabbed from a bargain bin recently. I can't seem to play it for more than ten minutes before boredom sets in.
Also, having totally forgotten that I had preordered it over a year ago, the PC version of Resident Evil 4 landed on my doorstep last week, so I guess I'll be playing that soon.

Oblivion and (cough!)Saint's Row(cough!). I'm actually kinda enjoying being a pimpin' gangsta' foo', kicking ragdoll prostitutes down the street, stealing cars and modding them, shooting up the place etc.
I bought a second-hand copy of SW:KOTOR last week, but it crashes my Xbox360 whenever I try to enter a certain door required to advance the plot, right near the start too. Bum.:(

The best way to play it is to pick up a second hand GameCube and play the original. The PS2 version is apparently pretty good also (it has an extra mission and lots more reasons for multiple playthroughs.)

I've been playing MAME lately, Vampire Savior and Samurai Shodown II (a couple of my favorite boxers) - it's been a while since a good first person shooter came out and I've replayed all mine a zillion times through. I'm so looking forward to the batch of games coming out this year - S.T.A.L.K.E.R. being the first comes out in four days - bring it!

Well, I can't play RE4 at the moment anyway. Trying to install it just now I remembered why I have only played Steam games for the past six months - both DVD and CD-RW drives seem to be borked, or at least the cable is. :(
I saw recently that the Hitman games have appeared on Steam so I might buy the package. Despite having played most of them I think they're probably worth owning on Steam. OR I may wait to see if Eidos puts the Thief and Dx series on there, I've been meaning to replay them for a while.

Sorry to hear that, however, i feel that Re4 wasn't all that great. I did enjoy the new mechanics with cameras and aiming but it was just too action oriented, not creepy at all. That and they really strayed from the universe canon. I mean, RE games are not shakespearean tales but the story in 4 was absolute trash (saving the president's daughter? urg, they ruined Leon for me).
I wish they would have keep it like this: http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=1099

You might not have liked the story, and we are all certainly entitled to our opinions, but it is virtually undeniable that the re-worked controls were actually approachable. Don't get me wrong, I am one of the biggest fans of the series since its beginning, but the earlier RE controls were like having three retarded monkeys trying to drive a tank backwards through a minefield. In RE4 you could actually AIM... ZOMG! What a concept, since all RE and there focus on ammo conservation, I have always wonders why highly trained special forces units could not achieve headshots (at close range no less) against slow moving targets to effectively conserve their ammo. As a side note, most zombie lore suggests that the head must be severed/destroyed/pierced to permanently defeat them anyways. Ok back on track, many gamers out there practice headshots in a variety of games and take pride in their quick relexes and abilty to quickly become familiar with the controls and be able to capitalize on this. So it made RE4 a little more on the action side, what they did for the control scheme more than made up for it, even if you thought the story was bad (which, I for one didn't). BUT... at least it wasn't one of those light gun games or run-around RE with no point to it, huh?

Sorry to hear that, however, i feel that Re4 wasn't all that great. I did enjoy the new mechanics with cameras and aiming but it was just too action oriented...
I've played a few RE titles. The latest three being 4, zero and the Gamecube re-make of the original, and although I did get pretty used to the original controls, I think the RE4 controls are a huge improvement (As for the original controls, if they'd included 90 degree turns as well as the 180 degree turn on the Gamecube c-stick it would have made it at possible to achieve complete fluidity))
As far as the story's concerned, I thought it was okay, at least just to justify the gameplay (and I really liked the gameplay), although I can totally appreciate that a lot of fans of the series would be annoyed at them exploiting the characters and story-arks to facilitate the gameplay.
Having said that, to be honest I'm not really sure if I would have enjoyed RE4 as much if it was like the rest of the series, plus I think the whole attrition dynamic of RE4 is also the direction in which the whole survival 'genre' is moving, so I think it needs to go that way to stay fresh.
I hesitate to call survival a genre since I think it's like Film Noir in the sense that it's probably not really a genre in it's own right. It just utilises dynamics common to most games (it just emphasises them) and there are so many games that seem to have what might be considered a survival dynamic but that are still not considered survival games. For instance, on the more difficult settings Rainbow Six Lockdown might even be definable as a 'survival' title, just not a survival horror.

Honestly D'Sparil I don't know about the quests so far I was just busy exploring. So far I've only done two quests which weren't anything special.
The traps are a lot better done than in Oblivion, lots of times even if you know what to look for you'll miss them and there's stuff like crumbling columns that you don't even have a chance to see.
The overall gameworld looks a lot like fan-service for Morrowind fans with giant mushroom-like trees all over
Also there's like 10? all new enemies so it's not like they just slapped new skins on stuff and proclaimed an it an expansion.

So S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has been released since my previous post and I've been playing that. Seriously, yesterday was a 20-hour marathon with pee breaks and a quick check online how to get out of Brain Scorcher (after having misread an earlier tip). I've been collecting armors, rifles, and artifacts (the pistols are, in my opinion, lame, so they're left on the cadavers). I have every artifact (that I know of) except Mama's Beads (traded them in before I decided to start collecting) and Night Star. I have most of the rifles except the sniper-modified TSR-80 and the Bulldog grenade launcher, both of which were traded to Duty for chores, and others that I haven't reached in the game yet. I have all the armors I know of. I keep them stuffed in a stash just outside of the bar. I know some other heads are playing this - what's your preferred weapon? What is the funnest thing to do in the game (or the funnest mission you had to do?) What artifacts do you actually use? My favorite activity: I equip my best endurance artifacts (curently three Moonlights and two Flashes) and a shotgun (I'm using up the Gravi-enhanced Chaser 13 now, but will probably switch to the SPSA14 when it chokes too much) with dart rounds, and chase mutants. You can run indefinitely and their varied attach/avoid behavior is a blast. Snorks, for example should be coaxed into jumping at you for a point blank shot that'll drop them in one shot out of the air. If you time it wrong, you'll get hit and they'll still be alive, but if you time it right, you'll actually knock them back out of the air a little. Blind dogs just get chased around the park, but you have to have Psudodogs present to make things interesting. Sometimes I'll go to the border of the Monolith/Red Forest area. For whatever reason, there are legions of all kinds of critters swarming that area and, during breaks in the action, I'll go over the hill to the village and drop a controller.

Over Easter I mostly played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - it's my first experience of the Belmont Saga EVER, and as such I had to sink into the dirty underworld of GameFAQs, just to make sure it wasn't really all over in 6 paltry and exceedingly easy hours.
For those who don't know (if such a person exists) - it isn't. There's, like, 100.3% more game in in there. Providing of course that you've found item X and Y, (which in turn require a chain of other items to procure), leading you to solve puzzle A, to collect item Z, only then to re-do part F and find yourself in location 2.
Location 2 also being 100.3% harder.
I hope that doesn't spoil anything for those last dregs of the Gameplaying Public who have never experienced the Wonders of Castlevania (bom-bom-bommmmm).
Oooo, and I agree with what somebody else said above: Shivering Isles is indeed (visually, at least) a big fan-service to Morrowing fans. It's also a little bit mad (obviously), the main quest is over a bit quick, and it's only for those who enjoy dispairing labrinthine dungeon crawls.
Don't listen to Gamespot's review either - Sheogorath is awsome, and also not Scottish. Infact, it sounds more like poorly-acted Irish. There's a massive difference. Stupid Gamespot.

A little bit of Half-Life 2 deathmatch every day, just for relaxation  Trying to teach those damn rpg campers a lesson or two about honor and glory :p The last game I finished was S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and I L.O.V.E.D. it. But it was somewhat of a bittersweet experience, seeing as how many of the promised features along the years have been cut.
And I recently quit using the Source engine for a mod I'm making, that moment coinciding with the release of the first videos showcasing CryEngine 2  it was better than sex ! I couldn't tell which Sheogorath's accent was most of the time because I was revelling in the sheer insanity of his dialog.
Was having fun yesterday being sadistic with one NPC who was charged to follow me - the pathing is actually fairly decent so when I jumped from one of the high staircase landing to a rooftop he realized that the only viable way to get where I was was to do the same. However he couldn't jump as far and a hilarious "Don't try this at home" miss occurred. Then he'd get right back up and try again. And again. And...wait nope he got knocked unconsious that time. So much twisted fun!
Also started playing the pc version of Jade Empire. Aside from the fact that you can definitely tell it's a port it seems okay. Chock full of all the myriad dialog options you expect from BioWare (I want more alignment choices than just a boring 2 - How about a pentagon chart that shows my leaning towards various things?)
Edit: @LowEnergyCycle - If you liked Symphony of the Night play "Curse of Darkness" for PS2 or Aria of Sorrow/Dawn of Sorrow for GBA/DS (All castlevanias). Curse of Darkness is neat because it's 3D with full ability to rotate the camera

Very nicely rendered. Play is a bit trickey to me, because you have to keep killing things to maintain your power and life. Makes for some tense moments when running around and time is running out...

I started replaying Morrowind again :D oh how I've missed it.
I can't remember any good mods other than Better Bodies, and some of the cool face/hair mods. The complete re-texture mods look ridiculous and I installed one and it looks horrible, completely kills the original feel of Vvardenfell completely.
Can anyone think of any other mods?

Was playing Stalker.
Now that the weather is better for outdoor activity, I've picked back up on a on going Interactive RTS game called "Chores", Episode 51. Last year I was diligently working on version 50. As you can gather, 51 picks up where 50 left off back in March of this year. Little by little I am able to manage various quests put forth upon me. Current quest is to finish a roof over a 3 ton outdoor crane. Side quest require I mount my trusty Brunt orange iron steed Kubota 6800HDD and do battle with the evil brush and tree stumps from my 7 acres of semi grown over woodland lot sprawl. Interactive gaming at it's best.
Look forward to a little under the sea get away come August 21st or so.
Keep the faith fellow COR. :)

What I love about the AI is the personality and considering they're all clones monolith had an excuse not to add emotion to their speech.
"I can't see him" <- panicky
"Shut the f*** up" <- angry

one question for the WoW players. why?
Lol. I've been asking myself that since it got boring. Honestly, I was hooked for about a month. I enjoyed the repetitive quest types until i obviously got sick of them.
I've been an EQ player since the get-go so playing a really polished MMO like WoW is a huge difference and it's more fun in some ways. It's really easy to just pick up WoW and play casually. You actually gain experience from not playing (kinda), it's this thing called Rested Experience that basically gains the more you're logged out, and when it rises, it fills a percentage of your total experience so you actually level faster; your experience rises 2x faster until you're out of rested exp. I don't know, it's kinda confusing to explain for some reason.
Like I said, it's just really easy to just jump in every now and then and join an instance raid or just poke around and work on professions.

D2 ftw! I was huge into it for a while too. Sigh. Cow run, anyone?
WoW is for those who want a game where they can be social, build a character, pick up quests casually, and just have fun. It's not a huge serious game and if you treat it like it is, then you're gonna be let down. Also a huge thing about WoW to a lot of people is the instances. Basically a generated dungeon just for your group. Theyre fun and usually yield some good items.

Oh and Shadowrun which you either love it or hate it is good to kill time

What are the specs of the machine and what resolution will you be running it at? Cause I'll tell ya in my 8800 GTX machine, the framerates crawl at times, other times it's 100+ FPS. It's unpredictable, but the graphics engine is kinda needy of better hardware. I'd give it a shot, even if you have to turn the detail down.

'Tis indeed, may I inquire as to your clan, my good son of cain?
As for me. I just finished Undying, a game I'm sorely dissapointed that I ignored when it was released. So right now I'm playing Diablo II (keep getting bored of my main characters, making new characters which I then ignore and return to my main character again :p ) and C&C 3, a game which doesn't quite revitalise the C&C universe like it promised but is nevertheless a very enjoyable game (when your doing well  )

Gangrel. Seems to be the run-of-the-mill clan, rather average. It works for me. I don't know too much about the game, really...aside from what I've played of it. I don't know the difference between clans too well...who has what disciplines, who excels in certain types of combat. Alls I know is that this guy is pretty good with stealth, security, and computers. That's my type of character, sneaky sneaky.

YAY a fellow Gangrel, although if you wanted a sneaky character you probably should have gone Nosferatu or Malkavian as they're the two clans with stealth abilities, especially the Nosferatu although I wouldn't imagine many people would play them as they're F*** ugly.
Still malkavians can be a laugh, although to be honest I wouldn't recommend them first time you play either as their dialogue is F***ed. The clans don't really matter that much in the end, I tended to play the game stealthy as well, if only for the sneak kills, hehe *snap*.

Maybe next time around I'll try Nosferatu. They seem like the type who'd have to stick to the sewers due to their appearance...which sucks. That just makes it less enjoyable because you don't blend in like you're supposed to.
I like my gangrel (so far), though I don't think the "build" of disciplines has that much to offer (i use animalism mostly just for the nightwisp ravens), but i gotta work on building that up. I havent been progressing my guy in much other than security, stealth, and computers.

YAY a fellow Gangrel...
I was tempted to replay as Gangrel because it changes the way Beckett, a fellow Gangrel, relates to you and trains you.
I played as Ventrue mostly for joy of casting max strength domination. Too funny. However, no player should ever leave this game without also experiencing the world of a Malkavian. Aside from the hilarious lines, the TV anchorman may even strike up a conversation with you in your downtown apartment. Never tried Nosferatu. I suppose that having to keep to the sewers, ducts and shadows forces an entirely unique experience plus entirely different dialogues.
I'd strongly recommend that anyone playing Bloodlines these days consider applying one of the unofficial patches by Dan Upright, aka Wesp5. He's even separated them into bug fixing only and gameplay modding versions:
http://www.forumplanet.com/planetvampire/forum.asp?fid=9643
You'll find that his patches unlocks an interesting optional suite of character creation templates that were fully assembled in the released code but never implemented. So, not only did I play as a Ventrue, I was born of the "Corporate Schmo" template. :D

I wanted to like Okami. The art is fabulous. The combat mechanics started to break it for me. Too many problems with camera angles and lining up attack combos. And that bug. That f***ing bug. I would skip dialog at every opportunity just to not read the insipid jokes and hear that shrill chirping. I realized that I was missing out on the story, which is quite good from what I did see, because I couldn't stand a supporting character.
