Does this annoy anyone else? When splicers just appear out of fat air or disappear into fat air whenever they please. I know I cleared out a room in Fort Frolic, but this splicer somehow came out the room I already cleared. When did spawning enemies become needed?
Also why do the Splicers have unlimited ammo. They should have to pay for ammo just as I do. The infinite ammo on their part is cold. I've never seen a Big Daddy reload his gun ...
Just my rant ... stupid splicers and big daddies

Uh, it's to bring a feel of life to rapture, Rapture is inhabited by people, meaning, they go where they please.
If you want to start killing everything in your path so you can bask in the glory of an empty room then go play Halo 3 >.>

I agree. All games could use a little spawning, as long as they make it where you can't actually see the spawning take place. This game keeps the action going and would be very boring if not for spawning. As for the ammo, I agree that they should have to buy ammo too. They use medical dispensers, why not vending machines?

I hate the spawning, makes me have to use up stuff in hard.

about the unlimited ammo. i agree. i also think that since they're holding their pistols in a manner that would sometimes jam them, they should get jammed guns and have to run away or something to fix it (picture this: a splicer is firing at you, and suddenly his pistol jams. he starts swearing and mumbling to himself as he runs away, frantically trying to unjam his weapon) that would add even more realism to the game. and of course, they should need to reload >_<

My take on this is that spawning enemies is a great enhancement to the game. I've only beaten (and played) the 360 version, so this may be why, but I never saw anyone spawn out of the air. Think about this, Splicers lived in Rapture, they obviously know the layout better. I'm sure they can find alternate ways in, and as for Fort Frolic, Spider Splicers can go pretty much anywhere for obvious reasons and that place is crawling with them.
As for Splicers reloading, I don't think it really impacted the game much, and they do scramble around quite a bit when shooting, so perhaps they could be.
!! MAJOR SPOILER !!
Big Daddies have only rivet guns, and seeing as how they are genetically modified people with freakin' suits of armor and grafted bodies, I'm sure the ammo was taken into account by Rayn and/or Suchong.
I'm not saying these improvements wouldn't be nice, but I don't really think they take the fun out of it, or even really impact the realism.

I actually did catch a splicer spawning once. I was leaving one of the facilities in Pt. Prometheus, and I had a hypno'd BD following me. I went through the decontamination chamber. Once the light turned green, the doors unlocked and I went out. Just then, the door on the other side of the foyer opened to let the BD out into the foyer, and while it was open, I saw a Dr. Grossman splicer appear out of thin air right at the door, next to that small room with the disabled security bots.

i've seen a splicer using a vending machine before (im not talking about the splicer that rigs one to drop dynamite or whatever it is out of the vending machine when you use it in hepheastus)
as for this reloading splicers thing, i don't think they should because most people would probably just hide, wait for the splicer to reload then run up and beat them to death (or shoot them). However it would be more realistic for them to reload, but would make the game easier.so i guess it's kind of a good news bad news sort of deal.

good point. usually splicers get the most hits on me when im franticly trying to reload (gets to be a real pain when ur trying to kill a bouncer with a gernade launcher, so long to reload!!:( ) so that would make it a lot easier to kil them when they can do anything bback
I'm pretty sure that Leadhead splicers always reload at some point in a fight. I'll have to watch a bit closer next time through to be 100% sure though.

This is true. I just saw a LEad Head Splicer shooting one of my hacked turrets. I think i was in camo mode because he didnt see me. He ran into the room where i was (out of the turrets sight) and kneeled over to reload his tommy gun. I smaked him over the head with my wrench, but it just proves that some time or another splicers reload too.
