The following is from a couple of threads at www.ttlg.com
From: New Video (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112487)It also looked more like a security override than a true hack.In the playthrough we recorded, the player had plasmids and inventory items equipped that essentially turned him into a super hacker, allowing him to bypass the slower and more difficult manual hacking.
Players that want to focus on using the security system to their advantage can go this route; players that choose to build their character in other ways can still hack things but it's more difficult, time/resource-consuming, and has more repercussions for failure.

Ok, that's cool. Was that an exaggeration of how it will be, or will maxxed hacking really be that quick in the final version? I'd almost want to stop just short of it, just to be able to still fiddle with something
Actually, that wasn't so much "maxed hacking" as "maxed security bot research". If you want to fiddle, don't research security bots all the way to the end of their research track :)Will the game pause during the hacking process or will everything go on in the background (like in System Shock 2)?
BioShock's hacking game is more complex, takes significantly more time, and takes over more of the screen, than the one in System Shock 2 did. We tried having the world continue while you hacked, but it turned out to be No Fun, since you'd get interrupted far too often.
From: Cyber Modules = what? (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112333)Some of this confusion is no doubt due to the fact that the names and functions for various things tend to change during development. At the moment, Adam is used primarily as the means of permanently increasing your abilities. Buying things at Vending Machines and the like is handled with a resource which we are currently calling "dollars". (Technically these would be "Rapture Dollars", but no one *in* Rapture would bother using the full name under most circumstances. How often do people in the U.S. talk about their money as "United States Dollars", after all?)I'm happy to hear that stats are in, if by abilities you meant stats, that is.
Hrm. Not "stats" exactly, though some of the character improvement is sorta-kinda-stat-like...
But how is hacking done then? What resource will it require? Dollars wouldn't make much sense. Does it require Adam, like it did initially?Hacking is... complicated. It's very cool, but not done the same as any of our immediate predecessors.
Dudes— why don't you post here (forums.2kgames.com)
Although, having said that, Ken does, and it's much appreciated.
